Forums - Gaming Discussion - Most disappointing "fall from grace" by a game company

You know, a company makes you fall in love with them and then they go and take questionable decisions that make you go: "What are you doing!? That isn't like you guys!" To the point you lose faith on them.

Think of it it this way:

1) Loved X gaming company because of __________.

2) Then they did Y thing / took the following decisions________  that I didn't like.

3) Now I feel ___________ for/towards them.

This is not a test with them blank spaces. :P

Shoot!

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Not a test, you say? Tough.

1) Loved Blizzard because of StarCraft and Diablo II.

2) Then they made StarCraft II and Diablo III, which were shit once you scratched beneath the surface.

3) Now I feel hatred towards them.

I can give you a random grade if that makes things better, I give you A.5/10 :D

Loved thw N64, felt nothing for the GC, and hated the Wii.

Now ....well I like the U, but I have no faith anymore.

I suppose you mean Nintendo, right?

While Sega was the first company that came to mind, I'd have to say Microsoft. They buying and then shutting down Ensemble Studios robbed me of the possibility of a new Age of Empires. The wound is too deep for me to forget.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Loved Naughty Dog because of Crash.

Then they didn't want to do more Crash games but I would seriously love more Crash games.

Then they did Jack and Dexter, Uncharted and Last of Us

Now I love them even more.

upps sorry I don't have a fall from grace example

Around the Network

Loved Konami for its Metal gear, castlevania, Silent hill games, and many more.
Now i hate them because.... you know why.
Though i really hope they either get back in shape(gotta have hope even if it is hopeless), or sell their IPs before they kill the franchises through their pachinko machines

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It may be part of the joke, but Crash Bandicoot in unfortunately not a Sony IP, Activision owns it.

Naughty Dog wouldn't be able to work with Crash even if they wanted to in the present situation.

I loved Konami when they developed Castlevania!

Then they created Lords of Shadows... even though I never played it I don't like the style.

I don't hate them but I miss the old Castlevania.

The same happens with Capcom, replace Castlevania with Megaman.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Loved Capcom and Konami because they used to be innovative and groundbreaking. Several great games every year.

Then they got desperate and wanted to be like western studios. Turning their franchises into poor copies of western games...or flat out ignore them and their developers.

Now I barely lift an eyebrow when they announce anything...

Someone needs to go to Activison and be like :

"you guys arnt really useing that Crash Bandicoot IP for anything are you? wanna trade it for this pack of chewing gum & a 10$ dollar bill?"
