Welcome to gamrTalk!
In today's interview, I will be taking the questions posed by you (yes, you!) and presenting them to one of the most active and most admired posters on the site, Ka-Pi96! So let's get cracking.

Here we go? :)
Here we go!
Alright Kapi, welcome to gamrTalk!
Thanks Cone, pleasure to be here.
Just to run you through the process quickly, I'm going to copy and paste across everything which you say without edits
So try to keep it clean in your replies, if you can
If you can't then, we will figure out someone to blame I'm sure
Sure, I'll try and avoid those horrible grammar errors :p
Shouldn't it be Grammatical?
(giggle)
See, there's one already :D
Indeed.
So why don't you start by telling us a little about yourself?
Ok, well I'm a 23 year old student studying Japanese.
I'm from the UK, lived here my whole life. Probably have one of those sexy British accents, just sounds normal to me though :p
And I've enjoyed gaming since I was a kid and my dad let me play his Sega Mega Drive
Probably to me as well in fairness...what made you go for Japanese?
A love for Japanese games when I was young had a big part in that.
Used to have a dream of one day working for Squaresoft
And that dream is still alive?
Unfortunately not. I tried getting in to game development or even mod development. But it just doesn't interest me.
I'm better at playing games than creating them
Well that's unfortunate, but at least you can keep on playing them!
I'm guessing your favourite game is made by Squaresoft, then?
Yep, of course it is :)
Nice! What would that be?
My favourite would be Final Fantasy 8
Although I also hold number 10 in very high regard
Ah yes, played through 8 recently
Rinoa was pretty great.
They were games that I really connected with when I played them.
Indeed she was.
So can't really complain with that decision!
The ending was really good too...you know, in the castle where you lost your abilities
Guess that might be a spoiler. In my defence, the game is like 17 years old
I kind of know. Been a long time since I've finished the game actually.
I play it a lot, just rarely get to the ending.
Fair enough. Maybe you should try it again soon!
Definitely something I'd like to do!
On another topic, it appears as though your profile picture here is a polar bear
Care to share the love of the furry white animal?
Of course. They're just so cute and adorable aren't they?
They totally are! Not as much as Flye ofcourse...
Seeing cute little pictures of them, especially the one I use here with the tongue poking out, they're just adorable :)
Then why your current VGC avatar? Seems like a bit of a departure
Yeah it is, I did think about just sticking with polar bears but I like a bit of a change up every now and then.
I've got some polar bear pictures ready for future avatars though, so they aren't gone forever.
Care to share some of them? ;)
First though you'll have to explain who that is in your VGC pic!
My current VGC pic?
Yes your current VGC pic
That's Miia from Monster Musume. A cute lamia.
It's a really funny anime and she's a character I really like in it.
Also, snakes are cute don't you think?
Hmm, might have to check it out then!
Erm...no comment, thanks
(wasntme)
(chuckle)
Here's one I thought was pretty cute. Don't you agree?
:O
Yes, yes it is. Change it now.
But yeah that's a pretty great picture you have there
Well it is a polar bear, how can it not be great?
Touche.
VGC seems to be a big thing for you. After all, 53PPD at one point was unprecedented! We'll likely never see that again
Think you'll get back to that and, if not, why not?
Nope, can't see myself ever getting back to that.
I'm just not as interested in the site as much as I used to be. Part of that is because I have other things to do, but it's also partly because there just doesn't seem to be as much going on these days.
What do you mean about "not as much going on these days"? Surely you must have something keeping you at VGC!
Of course. There's people I enjoy talking to there and threads I enjoy reading (especially looking forward to Smeag's upcoming greatest games thread).
But there does seem to be a noticeable decrease in the amount of good threads and the amount of active users.
Hmm, so what one thing would you change about VGC, given an opportunity to do so?
We're all looking forward to Smeags' thread! Been bugging him about that for a while
Given the current circumstances that seems a bit of an easy question. More regular sales updates :p
Ha, yeah.
Well that's the dream really isn't it?
It is. We can but dream. Maybe one day it will come true though...
No sales has hurt the site, of that there is no doubt. But I'm impressed as to how the community has remained steadfast despite the effective "heart" of the site having been removed. That speaks volumes to me as to how great a community we have, and that's one I want to support.
That's a nice way to look at it and it is a great community that I enjoy interacting with :)
Excellent! :)
So how are you enjoying your time as a writer on VGC, then? Is it as you expected?
It's actually more difficult than I expected. It's not that it's difficult in itself, the writer team is great at helping out with stuff and having Machina to look over things really helps. Yet I'm still very nervous about posting anything.
Don't want to post articles that aren't up to the expected quality.
Naturally. It's a pretty fine balance to hit
Yeah, I'm sure you'd be quite used to it by now.
Hopefully I can grow in confidence as I do it and improve as a writer though.
But overall I think you're doing a pretty good job
Having not wrote anything for the site since June I'm not sure I can agree. But at least there's plenty of room for improvement :)
That's good to hear. Looking forward to your next piece!
Thanks Cone.
At any rate I think it's coming up to the time to wrap things up
Do you have any last words or things you would like to share with the VGC community?
Not really, thanks for inviting me to do this interview though it was good fun. I hope the community enjoy reading it.
Hopefully!
One last question, though
Sure, go ahead
Have you ever met a polar bear irl?
No, I haven't :(
:(
Not sure I'd want to meet an adult one, because I like my arms and legs being attached to my body and all, but would love to meet and play with a cute little cub.
Heh. How incredibly picky.
Well that seems like a good place to leave it
So I guess that the only thing left to say is, thanks for coming by and good luck with your degree!
Thanks Cone :)

StarOcean's Cookery Corner
Here's a good crepe recipe! (I hope T.T)
Prep Time: 10 minutes; Cook Time: 20 minutes; Ready in 30 minutes
Ingridients:
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-2 eggs
-1/2 cup milk
-1/2 cup water
-1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and the eggs. Gradually add in the milk and water, stirring to combine. Add the salt and butter; beat until smooth.
2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each crepe. Tilt the pan with a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.
3. Cook the crepe for about 2 minutes, until the bottom is light brown. Loosen with a spatula, turn and cook the other side. Serve hot.
