'Should' and 'will' are far apart when we're talking Galaxies :)  I listen to Star Talk all the time, btw.  Even Tyson would admit that he can't say for sure.  Not that I'm saying for certain it will happen, all I'm pointing out is when you're talking billions of years, many, many unforeseen events can occur.  Heck, a star going supernova at the right angle would potentially strip the atmosphere right off the planet and irradiate all life on Earth.  The thought that we'll definitely be around in 5-7bln years is...well, human levels of ego talking :)

Yeah, I have little doubt humans will be long gone is 5 billion years. Even if our genetic line survived we'd have evolved to much as to be unrecognizable. But I get what you're saying, tomorrow NASA could announce that they've found a giant meteor flying towards Earth and we could all be gone this time next year.

Yeah, exactly.  There's just so much unknown that can happen in 100,000 years, let alone a million or a billion.

brb, moving to Mars before the Earth blows up.

The moon is probably a better destination. The temperature there is much better than Mars, and since it's closer to Earth, shipping for games and amiibos shouldn't be as expensive :/

Wasn't it already discovered years ago?
Or was it the moon?

^ so I wasn't the only one who thought it was discovered years ago.

Still  I'm skeptical about any kind of life form on Mars, if I remember correctly there's a limit of salt that can be in water so that life forms can form and since it's obvious that there's far less whater  in respect to earth (and in rispect to the Earth) it might be simply too salty for life...

Geez, I find water in a lot of places and nobody makes a fuss about it!

Seems like the big news is that there was discoreved that there is water actually flowing in Mars, right now.
Which could mean life.

Ik but I thought that in one of the discovery missions they found liquid whater in the underground :v
