If the NX is indeed Nintendos next home console will you buy it if it is not substantially more powerful than the ps4?... I don't think I will I think I will be done with gaming.

I doubt it will beat the PS4 in performance, I think even wishing for it to beat the X1 is pushing it. Nintendo is just not interested in hardware power, unfortunately

The chances of it being more powerful than PS4 are extremely slim. Nintendo seems to want to make something that's cost effective, and cheaper to make it more competitive. Similar to the Wii. Plus, there's just no point in a Nintendo system being more powerful.
If it beats the ps4 it might have a chance. The WiiU came out at approximately the same power as the ps3/360 1 year before the end of that gen.
They also tried to "innovate" by copying the psp temote play... which the ps4 ended up doing better. However, the gamepad was forced.
Hopefully it will be at least on part with the PS4... would prefer it to be more powerful, but that is unlikely

Wii U the same power as the PS360?? Nintendo copied PSP remote play?? The ship has long sailed on the Wii U not being more powerful than last gen. And Nintendo copied dual screen of their hand helds.
If it is of loeer power, and it is priced in respect to the power it has, I will buy it to play smash and MK etc with me friends. If it is of higher power it will be tougher to buy on my college budget
keep in mind PS4 hardware will be at least 3 years old when NX comes out so it isn't impossible for Nintendo to make a powerful console that still is slightly better than PS4.
I'll buy NX as far as the console is more powerfull than Wii U (except if it's an handheld for obvius reasons). that said I would buy it regardless of the power if they release on it the next Metroid game that sounds really likely.
All of that said the two games we know are speculated to come to NX are DQ11 and FF14, now DQ11 runs on UE4 but there's also the handheld possibility so it's a 50/50 FF14 on the other hand only released on home consoles so it's likely that NX will be at least more powerfull than PS3/Wii U
As long as it has the games that I'm looking for from Nintendo, and it's powerful enough to get the same games that the PS4 and Xbox One are getting, then I don't care
Going off of Soundwave's Fusion idea, that is looking more and more like a reality.
NX console should be somewhere between the Xbox One and PS4, maybe even slightly more powerful than the PS4 if lucky.
NX handheld should have around the range between Vita and Wii U, that way it'll be able to run the full scale console games seamlessly, even if it is slightly gimped down for it to run effectively.
I'd imagine on the TV for the NX console, a game with 1080p 60fps output, would go down to 720p 30fps on the NX handheld.
