Forums - Gaming Discussion - Can Sony afford to fail with the next Home Console ?

Not sure if serious...Sony's other departments make more money than Video Games, in fact last time I saw the only thing loses them money was their phones.

Yes, Sony is a massive company and can afford losses.. but I don't really think that would happen :/

Yes they can. /thread.

No PS home console has ever failed so we won't know.

Alternate thread idea: Can Microsoft afford to fail with the next Nokia handset?

I very much doubt the PS5 would be a failure

Me too.

Assuming that the PlayStation 5 is a failure?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

ROFL!!! LMFAO!!! LOL!! LOL!!! XD

In seriousness, they should be fine. They've been on an upward trend lately, and unless the screw themselves over ina huge way, they'll be alright.

Your sig fits perfectly here.

3rd party will never stop supporting Sony home consoles so that a PS console to fail is very unlikly

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

It'll be very unlikely the PS5 fails, their presence in the RoW is much stronger then MS or Nintendo, and Europe is no contest. Sony has been turning things around anyway.
