For anyome trying it, long press ps button, check the "emulate touch inputs" box, you can then use L3/R3 to do touchscreen/rear touchpad inputs using cursors.
Not ideal but better than nothing.

Also, works on the current latest vita tv firmware (as of right now) though likely not for long.

After the mod, if you close then re-open ps store it will let you download vita-only games from your purchase history and not prevent you due to compatability.

Last but not least, if you download youtube app on a normal vita under the same account, you can install it to the vita tv, and it will work, despite not being officially downloadable for the vitatv.

Wow, that is pretty neat. I just got a Vita for $99 from a friend, but would definitely would've checked PS TV if I hadn't.

They should also take over Ouya and merge it with Vita TV, and dominate the mini-console market!   

Just got mine for $36 on amazon. I actually love it. I didn't see the video yet but with all of the games etc that I own, this will be a blessing!

Does Netflix work the same way? 

Firmware 3.55 removes the possibility of this hack and as far as I can tell on mine resets the compatibility white list back to normal. I have two pstv's one used with a us account and another on a european account and there is some differences between what works and doesn't anyway, it seems and there is no network player available to download for the US account. Sony have really compromised the functionality and compatibility of this device. Still a good little unit but it feels like something capable of a lot more.
