Except for the fact that it didn't.
This is what happens when you officially announce a price cut. Thankfully it doesn't happen when someone 'suggests' there WILL be a price cut soon ...
The PS5 Exists.
Wii U did well. The numbers from SMM seem to be holding decently.
I expected a drop due to the price cut, but a 50-60% drop still seems kind of steep. My guess is that it would have had about 14k otherwise, since Metal Gear Solid 4 didn't lead to a sustained increase of sales for the PS3. I would expect the same for MGS V, if not more so due to the fact that it's also on PS3.
Anyway, I expect even poorer numbers again next week (since some of the days this week were prior to TGS), and then the week after that will fill the gap substantially. My guess is that for the first October week, we'll see about 25-30k, and the same number of units for the week after that.

C'mon, you're a better poster than this.

And it looks like Splatoon's legs are beginning to fade. |
What? Splatoon has been selling between 17k-22k in Japan per week. It hasn't been dropping. It's been keeping a steady pace.

My bad i compared it to time/darkness numbers which way above the rest of the franchise.
It's indeed nice numbers.

Yeah, it opened better than the previous two games in the series. That's hardly "flopping hard." If anything, that's reversing the trend (even if only slightly).
Sure, the series is no longer in its glory days, but that's the case for many games and it's been known for a while. I'd hate to consider what other games are considered a flop if this is.
There is almost 30k of difference between famitsu and MCC numbers of Super Mario Manufacturer lol, that´s too much.
Anyway, that´s a very good hold and a very good week for Nintendo.
