Forums - General Discussion - Which TV to buy in 2015?

My 2010 panasonic full HD plasma died because of a fucking electrical problem...

I want a new TV but all the LED tvs seem so boring, and OLED is nice but too expensive... Really, the quality of most tvs are dreadful, it looks like we had an wider range of options in 2010 when it comes to quality, the quality of the panels seem that just got worse, back then I remember some awesome led tvs but too expensive, now it seems all led tvs have quality in second and that smart shit in first place.

Which model should I buy or just stick with some 32" til OLED prices come down ?

Around the Network

While I'm the biggest OLED fanboy on the planet I'm not gonna wait until they become commonplace. The manufacturers like Sony, Philips and Samsung have made great strides to close the gap to OLED in the meantime.
I'm currently waiting for the right moment to get myself a nice UE65JS9500. I've seen it live and I have to say it's the closest thing I have ever seen compared to OLED.

If you want to have proper picture you have to go with direct lit and local dimming. The high end models of Samsung and Sony have managed to get edge light under control but I would never ever choose edge light over actual LED back light ever again.

I want to have a nice OLED TV but I do not expect proper models to hit the market before 2017 and I can't wait that long. Better buy now a great LED TV and in 5 years a great OLED TV than buy now a sub par OLED and regret it for the next years.
