So I went to game over video games this past weekend and bought a used fat ps2 with SSX, ridge racer 5, atv off-road fury, MGS 2: substance, and Tony hawk PS 3.

While playing SSX again, I got to thinking how awesome it would be if EA made a remastered version of this classic series for current gen consoles.

I know I'd buy it in a heartbeat! What about you guys?

I am 100% behind you on this!

I never liked SSX. It was to snow boarding what NBA Jam was to basketball. I thought cool boarders was better.

Skip the original SSX. There's no point while Tricky exists.

I'd happily take remasters of Tricky and SSX 3 though. The latter is one of my favourite games ever and even though I loved the 7th-gen SSX game, it didn't have that same neon-drenched; heightened reality feel that the first 3 games did.

I just posted this the other day in another thread! Though I want it on NX too. Tricky and 3 are among my favourite games of all time, I'd just throw my wallet at EA for a remaster of them (or a sequel more like them than the two we've had since them...)

I couldn't get into the one from last gen. It was too serious or at least it presented itself that way.  I I got it on day one and logged in probably less than two hours.  I should give it another try.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Tricky was the shit. I love that game. I played the hell out of it for a long time. A remaster would make me a happy man.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

You should definitely give it another try.  I felt exactly the same at first - aesthetically it was just so disappointing coming from SSX3, and the Deadly Descents were a terrible gimmick (I didn't enjoy any of them).

But underneath it all, it's still SSX.  It still controls fantastically like you'd expect it to, and once you complete the campaign you can play free ride on the good maps or do Global Events - which are like continuous multi-player events to set high scores, and I found that really engrossing.

Plus, the soundtrack is on point!

I'd now rate it among my favourite SSX titles, but I took quite a while to coming around to like it.

For real? After trying the demo I agree with this metacritic reviewer, which is complete opposite of your opinion:

This ruined every good memory of the series I ever had. Instead of a fun, wide open adrenaline rush to share with friends, you'll spend all your time either speeding out of control into unseen bottomless pits, or flying backwards up the walls. The entire environment is there to trap you, turn you over, or disappear you into oblivion. I would say thank goodness for the reverse feature, but since the rest of the game continues without you it's just a matter of giving up yet MORE time to the turns-on-a-dime AI. Speaking of turning, the control is similar to racing down a hill in a red wagon, with the handle BEHIND you. You'll be all over the place. You need speed, speed, speed to win, but using any will quickly fly you into a dark crevasse, or up a snow column leaving you facing the wrong way with no means to turn around.

I strongly regret that there are no game return policies because I hate. Hate. HATE this game. After I bought and loved the last 3 installments.
