Always wanted to try this series. However I've never really been into SRPGs. The only SRPG I love is Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time

Since when did "hit" not refer to sales? Also, since when was a 79 metacritic a good score? I came into this thread thinking that Disgaea was finally getting the recognition it deserves, and now I leave disappointed.

Fair criticism. I can understand how many would percieve that as a demotivator.

I love it for that exact reason.

I love the grind.

And I love the humour.

Though the series has had relative ups and downs, the enjoyment factor never wavers for me. It's one of the few games that I bare an uncontrolable grin throughout parts of my playthrough.

It's my fault for thinking that the word "hit" should refer to something extraordinary? Because 79 is a pretty ordinary score for this series.

Does it have a similar style? Because no SRPG works quite like Growlanser does from what I've found v.v XD it has a world to explore and more freedom than most SRPGs v.v the majority I see play more along the lines of FF Tactics where 90% of the game is battle after battle x.x
