Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should Nintendo release a Mario player app on phones and tablets.?

Well Nintendo will release some of their IPs for phones and tablets, but those games will made from zero for those platforms it want be ports of their console games that will still be full ultimate experience.

They should make an endless runner from the DKC minekart levels, I'd play that all day.

So you can either buy the Wii U game for $60-70 (depending on region)
when you can buy a mobile version for just $5? This would for sure harm Wii U sales, if anything...

but being able to play the original SMB/2/3 would be nice to have on mobile, if priced competitively with VC

No, but I will tell you a Nintendo IP that I think is perfect for ios... and that is Wario Ware. That game just SCREAMS mobile... at least in the style of the first game on GBA. Why? Because for the most part, all you do is push one button. When you consider how easy that would be to translate over to touch screens, and the nature of those short mini games? It's a perfect fit.

You could argue that a Mario Player App for phones would be made from zero..

And also that the full 2d Mario experinence still only would be posible on dedicated hardware.. Buttons.. amiibo.. and most important.. what ever Nintendo comes up with next when it comes to hardware.. (3D..VR.. brainwaves.. projektor play.. some.. we dont know.. but it will for sure not be posible on phones)

It's not the same..

Pretty big part of Mario Maker is... "Maker"

A mobile app (not version of mario maker) that can play the levels.. is no where near "the full experience"

(and I dont know how they would price it :) 5$ was just an examble)

i dont think this would be a good idea,no

I think the 3DS should get a Super Mario Player App but I'm undecided regarding a mobile version.

Another pretty big part of Super Mario Maker is that its a game that you actually play.

Its at least half the experience.
