Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should Nintendo release a Mario player app on phones and tablets.?

I know that "Mario on not Nintendo hardware" is almost blasphemy.. but hear me out.. :)

An App that give acces to play the millions of levels made on WiiU.. would give WiiU (and Nintendo) very good PR..

They could give WiiU owners unlimited acces (mayby more.. amiibo other) and then do the "you can play some free thing" for others (or pay.. lets say 5$ for free play)

Easy level sharing between phones and invites.. high scoreboards/trophis.. acces to unlimed 2d Mario.. No question about it.. It would be big..

And what would they loose.. few million who would skip Mario Maker portable..

I honestly don't feel like it would be that good of an experience. Between the screen being too small, and the controls being difficult to emulate (without making the screen even smaller), I feel like it would push away from the usual experience that Mario provides, and actually provide a false picture that Mario isn't as fun as it used to be.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

They should make an endless runner from the DKC minekart levels, I'd play that all day.

Yes mayby you are right.. that the experinces would be to bad for Nintendo to accept now.. (but dont think the screen would have to be smaller)

No.

There's this thing called "3DS" too, you know...

Yes.. I have hurt of it.. :)

For sure it would hurt "Super Mario Maker Portable" sales some.. And future 2d mario "dedicated" games..

But the qustion is.. Does millions playing (and somehow paying) on smart devices make up for that in money and PR..

I don't think it would work well on mobile devices.
