Forums - Politics Discussion - Saudi Teenager Ali Mohammed al-Nimr Has Been Sentenced to Death by Crucifixion - Happening today, unless UN can do something about it

The legendary Polish philopher and s-f writter Stanisław Lem (I recommend reading his books! Classics) taught that members of a higher, more advanced culture often make the mistake of thinking they can somehow "pull up" the members of more savage cultures and force them to advance to their level. This is unfortunately impossible. The Muslim world is still savage, they are right now in the place we were during our religion wars and inquisition. And there is nothing we can do about it, but wait and let them grow up and develop in their own pace.

In the mean time, we have to make sure we are safe from them. Thus we should stop the current invasion on Europe, send them all back, stop causing havoc in their world and just patiently wait and let them develop on their own. As long as they aren't killing us, let them play by their own rules, cause we may only cause some serious sh!t by getting involved. USA set their world on fire in the last decade and it sent them back in time and made even more savage than ever before.

Just let go...

Oil will dry up in 80 years either way

Weirdest thing is Saudi Arabia just got announced head of the UN human right panel.
The UN is just such an absolute joke of an organization.

Seems like the kind of political games you'd see in the Middle Ages.

But all things considered, you can't expect the entire world to move "forward". Who knows, in a century Saudi Arabia may seem like the bastion of sanity.

This is what happend to my countrys Foreign Minister when criticizing Saudi Arabia: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/03/24/how-saudi-arabia-turned-swedens-human-rights-criticisms-into-an-attack-on-islam/

You can feel a good amount the tension within the Sweden article. It makes me... cold.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

The oil, though. Nonetheless, yes, this is ridiculous. You have this country which doesn't go along with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, yet you put it at a symbolic head of that same regard... I don't get it. At least try, guys.
