Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nintendo Directs - Kimishima era

Nintendo has confirmed they will continue with Nintendo Directs so...

When you consider we'll see a new one?

What kind of announces do you expect from?

Do you think Kimishima will be on its in the same way as Iwata did or they will bring us a new format?

Next direct will either be October to hype up games from the end of the year to quarter 1 2016 OR The Game Awards/start of the year to hype up next year and make some choice announcements (some games and of course concrete release dates). That is assuming they aren't part of The Game Awards presentation like last year.

I alway figured that either we would get one right after Iwata's passing or we would have to wait until the new year. Guess we'll see one in January detailing 3DS and WiiU for 2016

I think it will be more serious format

They will recreate Iwata in CG with voice over from a talented Japanese voice actor.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Logically, October seems the perfect place for a big Nintendo Direct about end of 2015 and the early games of 2016. There are a shit ton of games that need release dates and new trailers.

Well, at least for NA Directs, Bill Trinen has been doing most of the Directs lately, with Iwata covering the more general things, so I can assume it would be similar to that

I'm expecting one in September/October

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

October and we will see zelda u footage.

My guess is we will see one in mid October focusing on late 2015 games like The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Mario Tennis (which I expect will take the November 20th spot lol), Amiibo Party, Pokemon, and a last look at Xenoblade X (in the US and EU that is). The biggest game announcement I could see is some eShop game (SNES remix?), but I wouldn't count on it.

I don't expect Kimishima to host it as I expect he will stay away from the public eye for the time being unless it's something major like the NX announcement. Instead I think Morimoto will handle it in Japan, Satoru Shibata in Europe, and Reggie/Bill Trinen in NA.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.
