Good for nothing hmm
It could, but I think it's got some things going against it that'll prevent it from doing so.
Aside from Halo 5, Forza Motosport 6, and Tomb Raider as their main exclusives and a solid exclusive lineup, I don't know if it can.
Last year it had Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2, Halo: Master Chief Collection, which was a solid lineup of exclusives. And they were backed up by a price cut, Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty bundles, whereas the PS4 didn't really have anything new to offer. And it all benefited in Microsoft's favor (for North America)
This year, it might get Assassin's Creed again, but now Call of Duty has moved over to the PS4, and Black Ops III will be the biggest title this holiday season as far as sales go, and Halo just doesn't have the same value and appeal that as it used to, and a big part of that is because Call of Duty has swooped in and claimed the throne, and now is not letting go.
I don't see any plans for another price cut looming. In fact if anything, I think there's a stronger chance that we will see both a PS4 AND a Wii U price cut before we see an Xbox One price cut.
So I'm gonna say, it won't sell more, and that it'll sell around the same.

Halo 5(with bundle)>>>>MCC
FM5(with bundle)>> FH2
Tomb Raider>>SSO(with bundle)
Plus backwards compatibility, Fable legends, and better 3rd party games than last year. There is still a good chance for a holiday bundle as well. And never say never when it comes to MS, they could easily drop the price this holiday if Sony does the same.
i hope X1 will do well, cause if they can't win whit such "hand" they are @#$#@$, cause 2016 is, hands down, the year of PS4.

I was thinking the same thing.
Proud to be a Californian.
Outside US, it well sell more because it is the third year which historically console do better than second year. Plus you have Halo and other big games.
In the US, it well depend on how good the deals during black Friday and December are. It will be close either way. I think it will be a little less.
Total (Worldwide) it will be similar to last year (+/- 5%).
Halo, Gears ultimate (remake), Tomb Raider and Forza makes it a compelling system to get. Especially since it is going to be cheaper.

Wasn't it the same price during the holidays last year?
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
If Sony announces a price drop for the holidays, XOne sales will suffer a lot.
If not, it will still be a tall order to achieve last year's levels, but I expect MS to give away multiple games in bundles and to drop the price to $299 in order to attract customers to their side and away from CoD/Star Wars killer combo for Sony.
However, all this is regarding US only. In the rest of the world it will perform much worse than last year, it has lost all steam there and is reaching insignificant levels. They might put up a fight in the UK, but mainland Europe and RoW are a completely lost cause for XOne.
