would need to see the clock first to make a judgement on it...

I´m having a hard time trying to imagine a clock that could be confused by a bomb to be honest.

How can someone mistake a clock with a bomb? If he was an American kid, I'm pretty sure none of this would happen.

You guys read 3 sentences and cry racism with zero syntax. Over PC much ffs?

LOL, I´m just imagining the scene with the police arresting the kid with that bonus clock XD It would be a great parody

prejudice ?  yes.

reasonable?  probably.  i guess i'd want to see the clock but the authorities said, "no danger in the device, but could pass as a fake explosive"  the teachers are trained to be cautious about these things.  one just can't turn a blind eye to a possible bomb because someone's feelings might get hurt if your wrong.  safety >> feelings

...but the 3 day suspension is stupid. the kid made an honest mistake here.  yeah maybe the thing looked like a bomb but it doesn't seem intentional in any way.  both sides should appologize and then everyone should have a laugh about it.  suspending the kid is just not necessary.

well checking the clock is okay, but police should bring the guy who knows how a bomb look to school. takeing him with them like a criminal was just wrong, and the 3 days of school would be fine for other reasons. the poor little boy is shocked i would guess, some days of would be nice to recover.

Siding with the school..

made a clock with these things:

used a LED like this

with wiring like this

in a case like this:

I can see that someone would call the police.

Oh for fucks sake. When an adult "american" brings a gun to school nothing happens to him until it's too late. But better be careful about that young muslim kid.

uh, what? Schools are gun-free zones. They get more than detained.

I would call the police too because it did seem suspicious. Arrest the kid and suspend him for 3 days after determining it wasn't an explosive? That's way too much.
