No, those are awful comparisons, like I explained none of them had any major selling points to get them out of niche status, Nintendo has proven they have the ability to make hardware and software with mass market appeal when they have a strong strategy and execution. A low cost Nintendo console is in no way comparable to the likes of Ouya/Shield/PS TV.

Bleed money for a decade? Yep that's a very wise strategy. And ur absolutely right there is no way Nintendo can successfully sell a console with a different approach to the competition, that's why Wii was so unsuccessful.

Do you think that NX is an Android device? I agree that Nintendo has no chance to succeed if they decide to compete with Sony/Microsoft. They squeezed themselves out of that market years ago.

There was a rumor that it would have an Android based OS which I guess is possible, it would likely be pretty heavily customized kinda like Amazon does with FireOS. But the OS doesn't really have anything to do with the power of the device.

Why is too early?

Nintendo already realased biggest IPs on Wii U (expect Zelda that will be realased next year), and Wii U sales are still bad, next year can be only worst than this year, not to mentione 2017 or 2018.

All points that Nintendo will release next hardware in 2016, maybe we could gate something in 2017 at the latest, but 2018 is definitely too late.

Nintendo home console usually have life span of 5 years, in NX home console arrive next year it will have life span just one year shorter than usual, original Xbox also had 4 years life span.

They haven't said what it is and nintendo hasn't done any marketing on it yet. If NX is a home console, it will need whatever major nintendo games they can throw into the launch to have any chance for it to turn out good. If the release zelda on it instead, they could "bother" some of the nintendo fans. Also the majority of nintendo home console's gen lasted 5 years til the previous one released and the new one released. Nintendo hasn't deviated from that launch pattern in a long time. The wii u released at the tail end of 2012. So 2016 is too early even if you count releasing at the end of 2012 as a full year. 2017 or 2018 are the likely launch period.

Why would they need to make any marketing if console is arriving in 15 months!? If they start marketing NX 3DS and Wii U sales would completely stopped right before holiday season, it would be pretty stupid decision. We didn't have any marketing for PS4 and XboxOne too in that time.

They will have new 3D Mario for launch and Zelda U port, Retros game for launch of first year, sales go for Next Level game.

Yes, Wii U will probably have 4 years life span instead 5, one year less isnt big deal if we have worst selling Nintendo console ever. Like I said, maybe we can have new hardware in 2017 (but all points that in 2016 we are getting new hardware), but there is no chance that Nintendo will keep Wii U till 2018. without successor.

To get people hyped for it. Isn't that what marketing is for? Nintendo home consoles  don't really sell all that well in general and they haven't devaited from the 5 year cycle. Even with the wii being as successful as it was, nintendo didn't lengthen or shorten the 5 year schedule. Why would they change with the wii u? Believe what you will and we will see what happens.

Sony and Microsoft's only lasted 7 years as well, last gen.......

But they support it for 10 years. Well, atleast Sony does.

With multigen offerings that look better on the new system. I'm okay that Nintendo doesn't do that.

But kudos to those who do.

Of Course that is marketing for that, but why Sony and Microsoft didn't marketing PS4/Xbox One one year before they were released!? Because it's inficent. Microsoft reveals Xbox One in May and released in November, Sony reveals PS4 in June in released same in November, I think Nintendo will do something similar, revel next hardware between March and June and released in November.

Why would they change with the Wii U!? Because Wii U is selling terrible, much worse even than GameCube, they already released nearly all the biggest IPs and nothing is changed, they can't wait for another 2 whole years without new hardware.

Sonic & Mario at the Olympics does nothing for me, but another one of those is also coming in 2016.

Released Holiday 2012

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_U

I know when Wii U is revealed and released, and we also know how that all worked out, and we also know when PS4/Xbox One are revealed and launch, and how things for them worked out.

I haven't really seen any indication that it won't release in 2016, the fact that games are still being released for it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, it's not like everyone would just scrap every project they were already working on and throw money down the hole.
Besides; many are assuming that the biggest title of them all is actually cross-gen, I am one of those.
Almost all signs point towards an early release, 2016 is still the most reasonable guess in my opinion.
In 2006, they year when the PS3 released, for instance, the PS2 got games like Grandia III, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Black (Criterion's first FPS), Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, Tomb Raider Legend, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII, Okami, Bully, Final Fantasy XII, Socom: US Navy Seals Combined Assault.

The fact that games are still being released next year, even some big ones, doesn't prove anything. Like I said; they won't just cancel every project but it's likely that 2016 will be the last one with any proper support for the Wii U and I hardly think that anyone will start up any projects of any size for the platform from here on out, but they will finish the ones they're already invested in.

I have no doubt. Smt doesn't matter cause it's a third party game (PS3 still getting more than Wii U years after PS4's launch), star fox and pikmin aren't big, and Zelda will be on NX.

Could be, yes. But it could also very well be a title to round out next years Wii U release shedule. And I would agree, next year looks a little bare, but that's been the story the whole gen with Wii U. A handful of amazing titles, and a hand full of smaller titles.

It has, but Nintendo probably hoped that things would improve at some point. For example, PlayStation 4's first year doesn't look as nice as 2016 and beyond does in terms of software. But they counted on that from the start.
After a while it became apparent to Nintendo that things wouldn't change, so they moved up their plans with the NX. At least in terms of PR.
So what I'm trying to say is, I don't think they consider a regular WiiU year as another acceptable year. I think they they do that if they also believe that things will improve in the future.
But they certainly don't want to replace WiiU after only 3 years. And even if they wanted to, they most likely can't because NX isn't ready yet.
So they will ride it out, and hopefully still give WiiU some love, such as Pikmin 4. I just think their NX plans won't change based on the 2016 lineupp, unless there's a huge difference, and WiiU starts to sell really well, etc.

Wii U at end of next year will have 4 years not 3. NX isnt probably ready yet but they certainly working on NX for quite time now, they start talking about new console in January of 2013. and we got some closure information in January of 2014, so I think Nintendo without any problems can launch NX at end of next year.
