Nights was a 3D platformer?

I haven't played the original Crash in a very long time, but I remember thinking it was a better platformer than SM64. But the go anywhere aspect of SM64 was way more interesting at the time.

Sure, I'll make that!

Not a platformer but he's right that Sega actually did try to use it as a counter to Mario 64 a move that condemned Nights to obscurity.
Wasn't this asked recently already? Anyways, as much as I loved Super Mario 64, Crash Bandicoot: Warped was an extremely fun game that made me yearn for even more.
Its no competition. Even at the time, crash wasnt a very good game. Mario nailed 3D platforming, Crash just did crappy 2D in 3D and running towards and from the camera. They were worlds apart in the technical level.
Crash is just a nostalgia brand because it was on the cheaper and more popular system and many got exposed to it as children.

Oh... Nights into Dreams wasn't that good either. At least they were immortalized in Sonic Eps RPG.
Mario 64 was a much much better game than Crash. Mario was a large open world with a lot to do. Crash was just running down a tunnel. They are so vastly far apart, that I'm not really sure why anyone would try to make a comparison between the two.
