Forums - Sales Discussion - UK Charts WEEK ENDING 12 September 2015

When was the last time a super Mario game didn't debut at #1 on the individual formats? And consideraing a 78% decline for MGS that was not a very big hurdle for SMM. I do wonder if both PS4 and Xb one sku's dropped by about 78% or if one dropped more than the other. 78% is a huge drop. What was the total last week? 169K? So we're looking at 37K this week, I can see it being 26K PS4, 10K Xb one, 1K the rest.

Tearaway Unfolded makes a very underwhelming start. I guess it was always only ever going to be a slow burn, but somewhere close to the top 10 would have been nice. Tearaway demo is available on PSN, which I've downloaded, and if I decide to get it I may well buy it digital. Or, possibly more likely, when it inevitably comes to PSN+ I will get it then. It doesn't feel like a title that will see a lot of retail success and more than likely it will sell much higher in proportion through PSN.

Until Dawn dropping more slowly than Gears Ultimate. Expected I suppose. Gears has its fanbase and relative to 360 it has shrunk at least as far as a remaster is concerned. Until Dawn is developing a fanbase so legs should be relatively stronger.

Idk if its exclusive to the US but Gears Ultimate Edition is still #1 on the Top selling digital titles for Xbox One. Above MGSV and Mad Max.

Last week the PlayStation 3 version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain sold around 5,000 units, Chart-Track tells us that sales dropped by 78% (all versions combined), normally last-gen versions tend to have softer drops, at least for these kind of big releases. To be on the safe side let's say its sales dropped by 65-70%, this would mean that this week it sold around 1,500 - 1,800 units, and Tearaway Unfolded is 5 places below so...

But only 15 people worked for it so... Well, there it is. So much for the "it will sell enough".

That's terrible even for a game like Tearaway Unfolded, I wonder why people put it on the "list"?

Its a great game, sales aren't everything.

15 people is how many worked on the original Tearaway for Vita, supposedly.  No idea how many made the remake.

So the argument was flawed right from the start? Good.

Not bad Mario Maker! Higher than 3D World...
