If Splatoon is not original because it didn´t invented the concept of paintball, then no game in the last 10 (or even 20) years can be called original, stop with the colors wars non-sense, absolutely nobody knew about that game before Splatoon, it has nothing to do with Splatoon apart from shooting paint and the creator of the game said that he thinks Splatoon has nothing to do at all with his game and he is pretty sure Nintendo  knew nothing about it, you are just being extremely superficial "oh they shoot paint, is the same game!" NO, play Splatoon first and you will realize how innovative and fresh is the gameplay and the overall style of the game, Color Wars is just an excuse for haters in order to downgrade one of the most original game in years, and is a very desperate one.

Being able to turn into a squid to disappear into the ink and being able to travel a lot quicker and traverse walls. The whole multiplayer and singleplayer is based around that switching mechanic. Without it, Splatoon would be a mediocre game.

Except Splatoon didn't invent "turf wars" either, the unreleased game Color Wars came up with that idea before Splatoon showed up ... 

I also believe that Nintendo didn't copy the idea from Color Wars like many other things but if the OP is gonna accuse "user generated content" of copying a Splatoon then the same needs to be said about Splatoon itself to show how silly this thread is ...

What do you mean? The squid switch is the chore mechanic of Splatoon along with painting, everything is designed around the switch mechanic is true, is completely a game changer, you are faster, invisible and able to climb walls and make jumps based on momentum, all using the squid mechanic, the game will be half of what it is without it.

On the other hand, no, I disagree, it's not a clone.  Both games aren't the same. In that sense, I don't understand why are you insisting this so much. Because Nintendo isn't original or something? Perhaps, but I do know that Splatoon worked the concept in a way that Color Wars probably could not have done. It's not all about innovation, it's also about uniqueness. 

Splatoon introduced a very interesting lore that fits with what we are used from Nintendo and presents itself in a very appealing way. 

What game did Splatoon CLONE?

This game mode took the name (squid), concept and map (Arowana Mall) from Splatoon. So this is the FIRST Splatoon clone. I only stated a fact.

Oh and two people can come up with the same idea independently from each other. This however is an obvious copy.

Oh please, is just too obvious that the game on the OP is copying Splatoon, they have shamelessly copied the design style of the maps, they tried to make a similar kind of music and overall this games feels 100 times more like Splatoon that Color Wars. Is still very far from it since none of them have the switch mechanic, the minecraft mod is better than that. I have nothing against it though, if people have fun playing a hiper gimped copy of the game, then they could be more interested on playing the real one.

To be fair, the music of the video is from Phineas and Ferb. The episode which it is derived from came out a long time ago, before Splatoon.

That being said, the map is definitely Arowona Mall.
