This user isn't just pretending to be part of 'Disney Infinity' development team.

Most of you who made the comment should watch the following videos.

This discussion is currently going nowhere thanks to aggressive languages used by thread creator made everyone who had disdain for whatever came out and start attacking the point that wasn't made.

The point is - Is this a clone of Splatoon?

Is it copies one of the content? - Yes. Arowana Mall
Is it called by completely unrelated name that suggest other game? - Yes. In no other context this should be called Squid Wars.
Is it made by Disney Infinity developer? - We don't know if 'Disney Infinity Team' is actual developer or just person with that nickname.
Did Disney officially endorsed this? - Yes, they did.
=Good chance of being an official clone (Or Parody) made by Infinity Developer, but can't be confirmed.

For other discussion.

Did anyone even actually knows how Color Wars actually plays? - I'm going to guess No. Since it was never released.
Did someone who knows denied claim of copy? - Yes, apparently.

Did anyone had any interest in this game before Splatoon? - Based on listed statistic, no.

Could this game influenced development of Splatoon? - Probably not. Nintendo Japan apparently had Water gun game that probably became the base frame of Splatoon instead.

And lets talk about innovation.

Is Paint Ball Gun or Turf War a new concept? - No, it is not.
Is shooting people with Gun a new concept? - No, it is not.
Is Wolfenstein 3D innovative? - No, apparently not.

Can we go back to more substantive discussion like - how does imitation made by creative tool impact the market or its audience?

Good post. :p

At least you admit you're one of the reason the thread derailed so much and is going nowhere, hope you do better next time and really great post from Kagerow.

Wish I was better at this

She got kicked out, then asked to come back, but she told them to go shove it, hence not a Jedi.

I'm well aware.

EDIT: I've got all the abilities, skills, talents, and distict tune with force like a Jedi, but I'm not a Jedi. < That's the joke.

Another thread shot to hell by console warriors on both sides.

If you want a better forum and a better quality of debate, start leading by example.
