Forums - Gaming Discussion - Problems with Sony and Microsoft?

If you want one for microsoft here you go;

Anti-consumer behaviour; Introducing paid dlc, timed exclusive deals, money hatting etc to the industry

Trying to force DRM and digital only, walled garden subscription model including netflix.

Lack of a diverse range of games... all shooters and forza.

Only actually own 2 real studios and could walk away from ind at any time.

Underpowered hardware, RROD, Exclusives only at 4th quarter

Obnoxious executives and horrible corporate culture.

More to come.

Did I just enter the twilight zone..

Seriously, you got so many people on here kissing Nintendos ass no matter what they do it's not even funny anymore.

OT:

Sony: Adapting paid online

MS: Still having paid online, their whole US-only centric approach, getting in on the early-access train

Knights of the Old Republic

On Topic:

Nintendo: Having the ridiculous obsession to "innovate" with their hardware. Relying waaay too much on nostalgia. Having an 80's mentality in the year 2015. Depending too much from the creativity of one person (Miyamoto). Not hearing their fanbase (words from Reggie). Being close minded when it comes to talk to third parties, thinking that they have to be aproached and not the way around.

Microsoft: They were the creators of the money hatting. Stucked with the same franchises from their 1st party studios, rinsing and repeating every single gen the same games. Underutilizing their own studios. Not allowing any kind of creativity from their development staff, making them develop the same games over and over again (Bungie comes to mind). Worst PR that i can remember. Underwhelming hardware (power brick and AA batteries for controllers).

Sony: Not advertising their own games enough. Being too passive when it comes to compete toes to toes in america with the Xbox. Announcing sometimes games way too early in their devlopment phase. Their E3s conferences pace is always stupid. Too proud to recognize failure (japanese thing).

Were they really? I thought Sony Sega and Nintendo did moneyhatting themselves.

Here we go:

Sony: I hate how they decided to go with paid-online. $50 is way too much ( Just to be able to play online ) and sure you get free games but the games given free this year that actually interest me are Rocket League ( $19 ) which means that I would have actually saved $31 if paying for online wasn't a necessity. PS3 Backwards compatibility can easily be done ( Using PS Now ) but since Sony wants that cash, they rather have people pay for it ( I'd rather have no BC than how Xbox is doing it though ). I'd love it if all features are made available to all countries and not having a mainly US/UK approach.

Microsoft: Some of their business practices are horrible. Starting Paid online. They got away with a 50% failure rate last generation.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

Microsoft:

- nickel and dime their customers to death

- refuse to have a Blu-ray on their X360

- Wi-Fi for extra $$$ on the X360

- HDD upgrades sold for an arm and a leg

- Kinect as an (initially mandatory) surveillance peripheral

- with Windows 10, likely opening up their console to all the malware that's currently plaguing PCs and laptops (be ready to start running virus scans on you XBone regularly)

Man guys, this was supposed to be a troll thread. Thanks for the posts, though!

Edit: No criticizing others people's opinion.

Is this your first generation?

Nope, it's my eighth.

Sony's servers are awful and they have yet to put PS Classics on the PS4. I know backwards compatibility of any form has a cost, but PS1 backwards compatibility is so simple the Dreamcast could do it.

I really don't have much of an opinion on Microsoft's practices regarding the Xbox as I'm not really an Xbox person.

The reason there is no PS Classics is apparently because of PS Now.

MS - Buying third party exclusivity

Sony - Buying third party exclusivity

Nintendo - Having next to zero third party support.

But what about Apple TV?
