Microsoft tired of being second to Sony, looks to buy AMD to kill Playstation

A rumour but worrying if true and this wouldn't be the first time Microsoft has done this to a competitor.

I don't this has really much to do with the console wars, lol, MS is looking at buying AMD for broader reasons than that. And because they can.

I hope its fake because if so sony has to buy from nvidia and we remember the reality synthetizer that was gimped compared to the 8800

Well obviously but MS doesn't exactly have the best record when buying hardware companies does it? remember Danger and just look what they have done to Nokia.

Erm the 8800 was launched in November 2006 and cost $599 at that time the PS3 reality synthetizer was based on a 7900 series card and had the RoP's halved so it didn't cost Sony $400 each.

They do it to benefit their hardware. They have a great relationship with Sony so they have no problem with PS4 being number one if MS makes money of every console sold.
