Amazon, with a 100% record so far this generation, predicts PS4 will win. But the chart is somewhat more of an oddity with a few XB one skus in the top 100 and only 1 PS4 sku, But the gap between the PS4 sku and the highest XB one sku is quite large.

So I'm going to stick with the very reliably accurate Amazon and I will be surprised if it turns out to be wrong. Amazon had some funny stock issues part way through August, but I think in the wash up it will still come out accurate.

Indeed, almost 15 minutes past the hour of NPD release and if all is quiet on the MS front it doesn't look likely that Xb one took the prize. Don't we normally have other more neutral folks tweeting the winning hardware and software pretty much on the minute though? 15 minutes of radio silence from everyone is a bit odd.

Don't worry Microsoft's PR team will make it sound like a fabulous month regardless. Their PR statement is the best stuff coming off NPD lately.
