Forums - Sony Discussion - What was the game that convinced you to get a PS1?

What was the game that made you go like: "I need a PS1!", if there was any. If there was none but somehow you ended up buying the console anyway, say how you got a PS1.

I may share mine later on.

Go!

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

My parents got it for the family at Christmas in 1995. No specific game... or was it 96? I forget, I'm old.

I was a kid back then, I didn't ask for it but my parents bought it because it had Resident Evil (my father really wanted to play it). Big mistake... I ended up using it more than them! My first games where Crash Bandicoot, Rayman, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Parasite Eve... and the list goes on and on, back in the day stores where selling pirate copies of games and they where really cheap.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

I can't remember when I got it, I just remember having it. Was most likely given to me by an older cousin who got a PS2.

My parents bought it for me at the time, so nothing convinced me to get a PS1, but it was Crash Bandicoot that made me want to play it all the time.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I didn't buy it, my Dad bought it and I have a feeling that ease of playing copied games was factor, Only had a few genuine games and I wasn't old enough to buy anything myself.

PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One

Battle Arena Toshinden, and the Demo that was released with the Dinosaur

PSN & XBOX GT : cutzman25

I bought it with Tomb raider 2, yet I already wanted one since I saw Wipeout running on it. Wipeout 2097 was awesome.

The primary reason for buying it was that I could not afford to buy a new PC at the time. Upgrading wasn't that easy back then and PCs very pricey. Initially I was a bit disappointed with the low quality graphics tbh, yet everything ran a lot smoother than on my PC and soon I was playing amazing exclusives like FF7 and MGS. V-Rally ran so smooth with instant restarts that consoles soon became my preferred racing platform.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I was content with my SNES until I played this one at a friend's house.
