You obviously need to look up the phrase reading comprehension. I did not state that they were extremist now...Just that the logic and teachings were the beginning steps in that direction. Just as I pointed out that Islam has not always been like that either. Suicide bombings did not exist 50 years ago. Look up the history of Wahhabi'ism to see where Extremist Islam began.

Christianity has been the exact same way before (Dark Ages) and has had many followers claiming to be the most devout Christians doing the most abhorrent things throughout history. Rocket pig gave you some examples already.

My point is the religious ideas put forth about gay marriage, stem cell research, creationism as an actual science to be taught in school, etc are all the first steps in that direction.

You of course, would say this organization no way represents the christian majority and you would be correct just like Al Qaeda doesn't represent Muslim views but your suggestions about Muslims are rather offensive. 

@rocketpig: The view of Muslims as killers is a common one. It is wrong I think. I cannot say that I know that it is wrong because the majority of Muslims do not speak up against these attacks, at least loudly enough for us to hear in America. I do know that there are lots of Muslims who are moderate, but they are under tremendous strain because we want them to denounce the evils, and the extremists want them to embrace them.

Most Christians do not appreciate it when people bomb those clinics or kill doctors in the name of Christianity. It sets the movement back in the eyes of society and makes it harder to spread the good news that they have to tell.

I have a muslim friend. He doesn't eat hot dogs but other than that he seems to be okay.

Alright, as the thread starter, I am putting an end to anything that does not have to do with Rush or Hannity. I think that this is heading in a direction that was not desired by me or others. If you have anything else to say that does not talk about Rush or Shawn than you can do it to me in a private message from here on out. I am stopping and ask that you do the same so that the thread can continue the way it was suppose to.

 I agree as it comes to Republicans, but not conservatives.  Rush and Shawn do not condone this type of movement and neither do true conservatives.  There are many blue blood republicans that do and I agree that it is very troubling to me as well.

I'm sorry I put your thread off track with my original jab about people who like Rush being confused creationists.

I take pleasure in pushing peoples buttons whose views I don't understand, but I will try to avoid it in the future.

Name muslim nations that are not under dictatorships / extremist religious councils. The problem isn't that Islam and the Muslim mass condone or do not condone these actions, its that the people in charge don't allow freedoms that allow free expression and free speech.

I have often mentioned that Islam today is the same as Christianity in the Dark Ages. If you defy the "Church" you will be killed, thus you just shut up and deal with it.

Again, read about Islamic history and Wahhabi'ism and you will see the comparisons more clearly.

Also, being Muslim and knowing quite a few others, I can 100% tell you that actions like what is described above are not condoned in Islam at all. Problem is Conservative media like Rush and Fox news etc, only really focus on the negative withing Islam and continuously propagate the incorrect views.
