Forums - Politics Discussion - Americans and Non-Americans, What is Your Opinion on the United States of America in General

I think its a terrible country, every problem in the world can be tracked back to washington or wallstreet located in the US.

And every great invention coming from the US is inveted by first generation immigrants (none-americans), second or third not so much.

I have mixed feelings towards America the country due to a few reasons, but I love Americans and I have a bunch of American friends.

i have the us citizenship bit i wouldnt wanna live there.

nevertheless, i think foreign polici isnt going far enough. pulled out of iraq way too soon. but cant blame em. no one else seems willing to clean up this mess called middle east. especially the arabs themselves. and now "we have the salad". germany in particular. damn you merkel!

Hunting Season is done...

Trying to immigrate there. Finally found my path, and will hopefully be starting my Masters at an American Uni next year.

Grew up in the UK, now live in Hong Kong. I find, in general, the Chinese to much more pro-American than the British. Although that shouldn't be too surprising to anybody who understands the recent political history of these nations.

I personally love America for its lack of cynicism in its culture, and the kind of entrepreneurialism that creates. It's a country of great abundance and wealth, second to none. And it's a country that, overall, has a deep respect for individualism and freedom. I believe that all of these qualities mentioned in this paragraph are strongly linked to each other.

i would feel very bad if i just could vote for the stupid party or those corporate clinton pricks.

hey, thats not fair, they made whole city into a robocop themepark, go visit detroit!

Well for some reason there are a shitload of weirdos who are obsessed with america for some reason, idk why It seems like a pretty awful country to live in if you are poor. Maybe I would live there if I was rich but probably not, there are much nicer places in the world imo. The government has some hilarious policies. I think that out of all the people in the world Americans have their heads shoved the farthest up their ass.

I judge the government of America and the people of America on a case by case basis. They've done some really good things, and really shitty things.

The US throughout history has been responsible for some of mankind's finest achievements. You should be applauded for these. Humans walking on the moon, bringing democracy to many nations, inventions galore to increase human efficiency etc.

That being said, the US has become a country riddled with social issues, inequality, overcapitalism, warmongering, religious insanity, obesity, Iliteracy, unquestionable nationalism, obliviousNess to the outside world, etc.

The single worst thing about the US right now though is the mentality in a lot of its population, whether it be acts of greed or cruelty through the guise of religious justification, people who use fear as a means to further their own career or the celebrity clowns who will do just about anything to get famous so they can star in advertisements and rake in that sweet idiot money. All in all I think that most of the problems in the US lies in extremist capitalism...

This is not why most of the world hates you though. A lot of the hate comes from the arrogance you manage to show. A fitting example could be like when OP says america instead of US. It belittles the other countries there to a point where they don't even appear to matter.
