very true i remember i got like 10 thumbsdown for saying that its a 250$ vs 400$ comparison. Its a fact that the PS4 is on the same route like the PS2 in terms of sales or more, so it means it will eventually outsell the wii espacially given that the wii was for 8 years on the market while the PS2 was 6 years

The PS2 was discontinued over 12 years after it released. The Wii hasn't even been out for 9 years yet.

Yeah but it is not selling units anymore

What's your point? The Wii sold better in its first few years than the PS2 did. The Wii didn't sell as much as the PS2 in the end because the PS2 had incredible legs, which is the opposite of what you were implying.

I did in my last point.  Unlocking a AI companion in Yoshie Wolly World that Nintendo said themselves helped to expand the gameplay.  Again this is besides the point, most day 1 DLCs don't harm the games that much but people still jumped down the publishers throats, which they are not doing to Nintendo.  Defending this really makes my point about the double standard.

Or he just have a different opinion. You know, that can happen, even when no bias is involved.

So far i really not annoyed by amiibos, though i do believe Nintendo will cross that line eventually in one game or another. But until now the "best" amiibo functions are either Splatoon (extra 2D "waiting in line" minigames and some cosmetic) or Smash (a slightly different CPU, easily replaceable by putting an actual CPU on your team). Get real, no one cares about a second yoshi (but the amiibo itself looks nice). When figurines are being used to completely block characters in skylanders or disney infinity, those amiibo are hardly a problem until now.

If you want to tackle Nintendo DLC, look to Fire Emblem Awakening. But honestly, Nintendo and other companys most of the time did a good job with DLC, which is not by definition a bad thing. But there are bad uses of DLC, and those deserve criticism.

@Topic

I will leave the big 3 out of here, because i think almost everyone is biased to at least of of them.

In third partys, some companys like Bethesta, WB, Rockstar get some undeserved passes, but i do agree with all the criticism EA and Ubisoft receive.

Its not opposite, the PS4 will have more legs

So you agree with me then that they're overcharging DLC, thanks.

Then why did you say this?

I think people are far too critical of DLC; it can add a good deal to the game and provides work for otherwise superfluous employees in between major projects. I get just about everything Paradox puts out. Again, though, this isn't a very fair comparison.

This is not some day 1 expansion to the game or a "buy this season pass, but you still won't get access to all the DLC" trick that more than doubles the original cost; in fact, they often do almost nothing at all outside of a select few games like Super Smash Bros. They're fun little figurines that some people like to collect that generally add something trivial to the game, and they can be used across multiple games. They've walked that line between neat, physical toy that adds a small something to multiple games and not making them too important so as to restrict important content about as well as they can.

Seriously, point me to some games that you feel were harmed by the existence of amiibo. I can't think of any.

Well no, it's not a double standard as I already mentioned such DLC does not bother me. Also, all I see wherever I go is people ragging on amiibo, so no, it's not much of a double standard. If anything, they're unfairly criticized and not well understood.

They need to be viewed separately from most DLC as a big selling point is the physical figurine, and they can also be used across multiple games.

The double standard that grinds my gears the most in gaming is pretty much everyone claiming they want new stuff, but when new stuff comes out it is outsold by Game #2, The Sequel: Time to play it again after playing it again.

I wanna see where you've been going.
