Forums - Gaming Discussion - *TOLD YOU SO* 2015 is the year of 8th GEN

You forget about Xenoblade Chronicles X :P

2007 for the 7th gen was WAAAAAY more crazy than 2015 for the 8th gen..
in 2007 you had games that were way bigger and were completely different than games from the 6th generation.
assassins creed was a breath of fresh air, mass effect was amazing, super mario galaxy was insane, metroid prime 3 was innovative and just fun to play in general, bioshock is arguably the best game released that generation (easily top 5), COD4 was like nothing we have ever seen before, the uncharted series was born, and i could go on and on.

2015 does not compare at all. gen 8 is still a tremendous letdown. these games that i mentioned were all a breath of fresh air and very innovative. the games that have come out this year are not innovative.. they are just continuations of what was innovative last time. the only exception so far is maybe splatoon.

Hey, if you're happy, I'm happy for you.

While I agree that we see some good game releases, you're wrong about sales. 8th gen is massively losing against 7th gen sales wise.

After 2015, it will be on par with 2014 for the Wii U. But 2016 might end up being better for it due to Zelda, SMT x FE and Pokken. As well as more stuff that gets announced.

As for the other consoles, I would have to say 2016 will be the year of the PS4 and Xbox One. IMO.

Nothing can beat wii u 2014. Mario Kart and Smash and Beyonetta

Loved Bloodborne, possibly my game of the year, but the biggest surprise has been Until Dawn. This game is several times better than heavy rain and easily one of the best experiences I've had a something which is a bit different.

Looks like Tearaway Unfolded will be another great game that gamers have been underestimating simply because it's not a mainstream game.

Pleasant surprises all around so far. Playing Mad Max and this seems to be pretty awesome as well.

Still underwhelming.

Yup. #yearofdelayes

Bloodborne and Witcher 3 was a good start, but things still have yet to hit high gear. When Halo 5, Quantum Break, Fallout 4, Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Division, and Final Fantasy 15 drop we will be able to say they are getting into high gear.

By then we should have news of God of War, The Last of Us 2, more Gears 4 info, a TRUE Fable, Zelda U/NX, and maybe a new Kojima title as well. This gen is not really underwhelming at all, but the "year of 8th gen" is not yet here.

Honestly for me it is underwhelming because they haven't really grown that much from last gen.

Not saying the game are bad, still lts of fun to play but to a small degree in your heart you still feel like you have already played it. Perhaps it is because of saturation in the market of similar games and you feel like you playing the same thing at times. Maybe i'm just getting to old for this shit lol.
