- The special is based on David Kushner's 2012 book Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto, which chronicled Houser and Thompson's prolonged legal battle in the wake of 2001's smash hit Grand Theft Auto III. Thompson's case against Houser was ultimately thrown out of court, and he was disbarred in Florida in 2008 for inappropriate conduct.

- Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two interactive filed a trademark infringement suit against the network and the creation of this TV film, Take-Two statement on this given to Polygon read:

"Our goal is to ensure that our trademarks are not misused in the BBC's pursuit of an unofficial depiction of purported events related to Rockstar Games,"

Which means that this film does not have the authorization of Take-Two.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

The BBC is making it? For a brief moment I thought it was being made by the Lifetime channel. I would've lost my mind if that were true.

I'll definitely watch it. There isn't much else to watch when I'm working. It's a blessing and a curse that I have plenty of free time to watch TV at work. I just wish we had cable TV. There are days that there isn't anything good to watch on all four BBC's channels .
