Yeah you have a point there.

The games that might make me buy a PS4 wont be released until late 2016 or 2017 and I already have a Wii U, if I were to buy a console in the holidays it would be a Dreamcast, but finding one will be tough.

IMO based on system sellers, xb1 definitely has the upper hand this holiday, nobody can deny that. It doesn't matter who has the better library because that's subjective. I really don't see anything on xb1 side that excite me this holiday and that's due to be more of the same. I just don't understand the halo appeal, that doesn't mean that I don't understand its selling power. IMO next year looks more promising for xb1 for those that aren't interest on their core franchises like quantum break and scalebound.

Depends on where you're from, but on Ebay USA and UK have quite a few, working ones, with games and quite a few accessories.

Maybe talk to the sellers, I don't personally buy anything on Ebay, but have bought international items on Amazon from sellers that offer that service for goods coming to the UK.

If it isn't mentioned you could ask the sellers with good ratings that have working Dreamcasts in stock if they would be willing to ship one using a good courier to you. Obviously check on how they package the console, but you may get lucky.

Long as you're willing to pay for the shipping I don't see why they wouldn't do it, your money's as good as anyone else's.

Point is it doesn't have to be an importer that lives in your country, could be a seller from the UK (not even Ebay or Amazon, another one) that are happy to use international couriers to do business outside of the UK.

Give it a go, you may get what you're after.

Dreamcast is awesome, I got one for a Xmas present from my Grandparents and have had many years of enjoyment out of mine, I keep meaning to set it back up and see if I can get hold of some of the games I never bought when we were in the 6th gen and those games were still available new, but I haven't got around to it. Definitely one of my favourite consoles of all time.

If you can't get the machine then maybe see about an emulator if you have a Windows PC, I think there are a few out there.

He puts "plenty of indies" for Wii U but not PS4? PS4 has way better indies and a LOT more than Wii U. I'm pretty sure the Xbox One does too.
Low power consumption? Really? That's a pro you would actually put? Power consumption is not even a big deal, you probably save a few dollars a year compared to the PS4 & XBO
"Several niche exclusives", funny how you put those games for Wii U but not PS4, which has Guilty Gear Xrd, Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded and upcoming holiday games like Dragon Quest Heroes, Tales of Zestriria, and Persona 5. And when people talk about "niche" games these days they're not talking about the quality of the game just the sales, which shouldn't really matter.
Oh and if you're going to say well some of those games are on PS3, read this.

And funny enough you won't put Persona 5 which is cross-gen but will put Forza Horizon 2 & Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Oh and apparently Bloodborne, Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded, inFamous, Everybody's gone to the Rapture, Helldivers, Guilty Gear Xrd and a lot more games are "mediocre".
