Awesome sales for DQ 7 and continued good sales for Splatoon. The Sony fans salt in this thread could give someone obesity.

Well, I have my 2 PS2 copies of DQVIII so I can enjoy it whenever I want. I guess SE don't want the 3DS version to be seen inferior so PS4/Vita could not be released at the same time, hopefully in the future though.

Also......gotta appreciate your shittalk xD

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

Or maybe you should stop complaining because its not on a sony platform? Does every game have to come to your platform of choice.. no I don't think so.

Could easily be on Wii U, PS3, PS4, or Vita and would be an improvement. I also wish that DQ8 wouldn't sell a lot on 3DS, because making an inferior version of an old game shouldn't be a big hit.

That said, it's still far away from DQ7, so you could argue that it has sold appropriately for the state of the game. I just kinda shrug at it.

problem is, this is Japan we are talking about. SE needs to launch it in a successful platform the japanese wants. and that is the 3Ds.  I don't know why SE didn't push a Vita version.  but they only pushed it for 3Ds for the japanese people.

why would you not wish for a game on not to sell well, if you do that, SE would even try to push on the localization for these titles to the west.

I never knew trophies influenced how much better a game would be... oh wait they don't.

Actually they do. They make me do things which I wouldn't do without trophys (for example playing Uncharted 2 and 3 on ultra hard or complete GTA V 100%).

That's kind of sad.

I would wish it not sell well, because worse versions of previously released games are not my idea of a wise investment. DQ7 on 3DS was a great option and I really wish they would localize it. It suited the platform very well. I don't dislike people or anyone who goes out and buys/enjoys DQ8 3DS. It's a good game, just wish they would have gone a different direction for it.

And I absolutely understand the business sense of the decision. I'm not condemning it on its sales or business potential. I know that Square is prepping PS4 and 3DS for DQ11 by releasing more and more DQ content for those platforms.

Lol what?  SE doesn't care about the game  being seen as inferior (which graphics do not meake a game inferior or superior), they care about which system their game's audience and userbase is on and where they will maximize sales; which is currently the the 3DS.   It's the same reason you don't see mainstream Final Fantasy games on Nintendo systems as they have built  and have a lareger fanbase  on Sony's systems.  SE is not as petty you make them out to be.

is it really a full demake?  there was this video i've watched an american who stayed for a while in japan, and asked about Majora's Mask 3D and why they are still buying an old port, the japanese kids doesn't know that it was a port from few years back. and they love it as a new game.

so if DQ is targeted for younger audience in japan, and they didn't experience it in previous gen, they can experience it as a 'new' game under 3Ds platform. Japan is really more into handheld so we can't push games they want into home consoles.  the DQ11 is an issue they want to have for both a HC and HH, to accommodate both type of consoles.  and DQ as a series is a big hit in Japan, not so much in the west.  so most of the revenue would surely be from within the market.

i don't know the reason why SE doesn't want to port it in Vita as Vita is somewhat good in Japan compared to HC counterparts.

And my comment has nothing to do with SE possibly being petty or not. It's pure business. There has been multiplatform games where the PC version has been pretty much locked to console specs so that it would not completely shit on the console versions graphically. Publishers don't want to make their game look inferior on one platform. If PS4/Vita version of DQVIII would exist it would make the 3DS version look like shit which could possibly negatively impact sales on the weaker platform. Having said that it is different with DQXI, there are 2 different versions of the game build from the ground up for each platform so it is not viewed as the same game in the same manner. DQVIII PS4/Vita version would be the same exact port except better.

I understand broadening the market and reintroducing it a new audience. That's why they made a mobile port of DQ8. I think you're confusing me wanting something different vs. not understanding why things are the way they are.

i get your point. it would be great to go into a different direction but we know these corporations wants $$$ as much as possible from the people.  sometimes they listen want the gaming community wants but more often they prioritize what their businesses needs are.
