NO. A complete waste of resources. They should just invest that money into their mobile division.
And if PSnow becomes what it can be, every mobile phone or tablet on the planet becomes a handheld console.
Handhelds are done. Even Nintendo who survived for generations on handhelds will not be making handheld exclusives anymore.

They better stop making smartphones and just make image sensor and other part of other smartphones company
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
I think there is still a possibility, though it's very low..

Yet everything so far at Ninty looks to be the exact opposite. It won't be long until new 3D Zelda games, Splatoon, and Mario Maker join their handheld side.
small44 said: PSVita failed but PSP sold well so why wouldn't try a third time,i remember people saying PS4 would sell even less then PS3 because PS3 sold bad compared to PS2 and PS4 look what happened now. Nintendo after GC or Virtual boy didn't stop making consoles so why Sony would stop just after 1 failure |
Psp Sold well for reasons that have long since been satisfied by smartphones.
I just don't see it happening and it's a pity because the PSP was my favorite handheld ever. I don't understand why Sony neglected their handheld division in the years before the Vita's release. I also can't wrap my head around why they waited so late to release the Vita (or those proprietary memory cards, or those specs / price point). I also don't get why they have done nothing to correct these issues. They really seem to have given up on competing in the handheld space and that does not bode well for the prospect of another handheld.
If they do release another handheld they should do so ASAP but seeing that Sony doesn't have a clue how to interpret the market they will wait far too long before release. They could make it more successful by using more modest hardware and releasing at a more competitive price. They also need to do a far better job with their digital content, both in terms of availability and pricing. They can't use proprietary memory cards and they need to forget about any unneeded gimmicks. They have to raise customer awareness by advertising and they have to court third party developers. If they are unable to convince third parties from producing "AAA" titles then they would need to start more second party partnerships.
