But you're certainly treating it as if the rain being in the game at launch and the game not being delayed is somehow a justification for the worse weather effects.

I also said make it 30fps.

Which is valid, that and that the PS4 is a stronger system. The delay and not being added at launch is not.

True, but I do think the delay point is also valid. I believe any game that gets an extra year of development looks as best as it can. What would have happened if they released it at launch? Would the Dynamic Weather have been delayed a year?

I think they should have delayed it a year and then patched in the rain at a later date. And make it 30fps. Then it would look better.

Could we please try and avoid having another thread digress into a passive aggressive dirt throwing contest? All this comment will do is start arguments, and get people to make similar comment towards Forza 6.

I'll keep it civil. Sorry

Thanks, and it's fine. I don't think you were actually trying to throw the thread in that direction, but racing threads are notoriously quick to end up there.

I think both are pretty good, Driveclub has the reflections done a lot better though

That being said, rain effects are a complete gimmick and no one will use them in a sim like Forza after initially checking them out.

What if the rain effects had been implemented in Forza 5? I mean Turn 10 doesn't just straight up start over with their engine every time they release a new game, they refine that stuff everytime meaning they had a pretty extensive basis to work with on Forza 6.

Also it's not like the weather update was something that was planned in Driveclub from the beginning, in June 2014 the weather system was still in "quite an early version" suggesting that it didn't get as much development time as you might think.

yeah, to be honest this thread was also a little test. I mean, its not even arguable that driveclub looks better.

I just wanna check how many people would choose Forza just because its "their console" or they are "fanboys" or whatever.

Call it a small social experiement. Just wanna check how many people can be objective and accept the competition is better. Im not saying that driveclub is the superior racing game or anything (a statement that would easily be discussable - no question). But the rain effects are just very clear superior for driveclub. it makes Forza look like a xbox360 game.

Still, some peope vote for Forza 6's rain effects.  Makes me wondering if having good graphics is really important anymore? Or people will just imagine theirselfs that their products are superior because of marketing, fanboys etc.

I voted for Forza 6 just to skew your experiment. :)

I agree, Driveclub rain physics is much better. This point is always being brought up makes me think that this is the only thing people enjoy Driveclub for.

Maybe Evolution Studios should make a weather simulator game.

that and the great driving mechanics and next gen social features

That's what I'm saying. If the game wasn't delayed, would there even be a comparison?

Got the demo downloading now. Rain looks great and they were able to keep the 60 frames per second. Can't wait.

Who gives a shit? Driveclub got delayed and Forza 6 took over a ton of assets from the last Forza game.

If Driveclub wasn't delayed then it'd be compared to Forza 5 graphically anyway, which would then again leave us at a point where both don't have weather (assuming DC wouldn't have added it via patch anyway).
