You can obviously buy these from the eShop directly, but for example South American owners can now purchase content from Amazon with their non-US cards.

It may be because I live in the UK, and we use the Sterling, but that looks awfully expensive for a digital purchase.

I may have been spoiled by Steam.... :s

Dunno, but I remember that Amazon.com had some problems with Nintendo's products at the beginning of the generation; they didn't sell 3DS or something like that.

i've bought some playstation digital content via amazon. good service but they don't care everything psn offers which is a shame. i don't see many sales either so i tend to buy direct from playstation anyways but a good options for those that don't want to give sony/ms/nintendo their credit card info or whatever keeps them from buying direct.

Nice thing to have I guess.

I probably won't be using Amazon to buy Nintendo games digitally, though.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Nintendolife added some extra info:

It works like this. You purchase the game on Amazon as you would normally, and then link your Nintendo Network ID. A code will be created and by clicking the "redeem" button, you can send it straight to your system.

So they are also going to link the NNIDs? That new rewards system was set for this fall, right?

That's cool. I've gotten a few Amazon gift cards and it'd be nice to be able to redeem them for digital stuff.

Amazon had a major problem with Nintendo, so you're right, that probably had something to do with it.  They stopped selling the 3DS for awhile and didn't sell the Wii U at all for a very long time.  It obviously wasn't a very friendly relationship.

Goood catch.
