This is the most shameless pre-order incentive I've ever seen.

This video is worth more than thousand words and hundred pictures.

I'm late to the party I think. Anyway, here's a Jim Sterling video to go with this.

You're about 7 hours late my boy.

Funly enough, some publishers on steam has been doing stuff like this for quite sometime now. If you pre-order Tales of Zestria on steam for example, there are 3 tiers of pre-orders and more the people that pre-order, the more "rewards" you will unlock

So its nothing really all that new although SE does take it a lot further

Already been posted, but I still really don't get the problem. Like Jizz said these tiered preorder bonuses have been done on Steam for awhile now, I love them. If it's a game I want I'm gonna preorder anyways (everyone shoudl if they want the game that much) so getting more bonuses for doing so can only be a good thing.

Why do you like something like this? This is even worse than day-one DLC, paid or otherwise.

So, because mot enough people pre-order, you DON'T get content!

I know I'm mot interested tin the said game, but I just wonder why people support policies like this shamelessly designed to fleece customers.

No they shouldn't. Preordering achieves nothing. The bonuses are there to make you do something that doesn't otherwise benefit you at all but benefits the publishers hugely. It's part of the reason we get so many broken games nowadays. Their incentives are mismanaged because they're working so hard to sell people on the idea of the game before it's been released, rather than the actual game itself. It's why incredibly average games like Watch Dogs can sell millions. Because people are idiots and can be convinced any idea is awesome.

For one minute, I thought this was a mix between pre-ordering and crowdfunding, as in, pay-more-on-our-Kickstarter-page crowdfunding. But this is just as ridiculous and desperate as that. I really hope that people see thru this shit and all this "Augment" crap falls on its face, so this never happens again.

Unfortunately they won't. And SE explicitly toys around with game content relevant to campaign, to incentivate financial gain.

I didn't think this sh*t had support but damn.

I never pre-order a game I know will have digital sales or enough physical release.

but in reality you dont get more bonuses, you get stuff that is taken out of the base game.

Not everybody can preorder. In the Philippines, there is no pre-order system for video games, because most people only buy pirated games. Plus, I can't pre order anyway, because I don't have much funds for new games, which is why I buy games discounted or used.
