One of many, including that console manufacturer that bounces back and forth between core and casual and just signed a deal to develop and publish smart phone games. Everyone follows the market if they want to last.
it is really all about the money... Even Nintendo wanted profits, but they sell cheap and lower spec'd consoles with a high price point. same goes with EA on those $60 annualized sports games, i had enough. :D
for NIntendo, it is really the software output that helps you to think if you need a Nintendo console or not. Problem is they don't really care about the 3rd parties which wanted better graphics and more mature games which the major of the gaming market is really focused at.

You know, I really shouldn't have googled that to see if it was an actual Thing.
Hm.
People can hate all they want on EA. They can be as slimy and shady as they can. But sadly for some, at the end of the day EA is responsible for 8th gen games such as:
- EA Sports Games, which are some of the best sports games on the market.
- Need for Speed.
- Mirrors Edge Catalyst.
- Plants vs Zombies (dont like it but hey, its popular as hell)
- Star Wars Battlefront.
- Battlefields.
- Mass Effect.
- Dragon Age.
- Titanfall.
The list goes on and on and on...
I dont give a shit that they dont support Nintendo. At the end of the day Nintendo NEEDS them more than EA needs Nintendo.

Isn't that the case regardless of the success of their console?

The point I'm making is that there's a compelling reason to see some money on the table.
Deeper issue here is that EA has struggled to market games on the Nintendo platform in ways that competitors with similar titles haven't.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Yes, but it would be so much sweeter if, while ignoring EA, Nintendo was still the king. It would be a fantastic slap in the face of EA, the greatest of 3rd parties which try to twist Nintendo's arm in the direction they want. |
TIL padib is into BDSM where Nintendo owns everyone and there are no safe words.

However, EA see's the PS4, X1 and PC markets as a much more worthwhile place to invest time and money in. If they were to put their games on Nintendo systems, it would take the same amount of resources as the other systems, with a much lesser reward.

Probably a minority of Ninty gamers, that sour grapes make regrettably very vocal in saying they wouldn't buy EA games anyway and pretending to represent the majority, will grant that EA never change its mind, unless Ninty becomes again as casual as in Wii and DS times. In that case, Ninty platform will have the most casual and mainstream EA titles, but forget the others.
