Forums - PC Discussion - MGSV Retail DVD Only Contains 9MB Steam Installer

So your not actually getting a Physical Retail copy of the game but instead a Steam DRM CD Key. Well I hope they plastered "Online connection required" all over the box art or I could see some very angry customers and a few court cases.

Most physical PC games now require Steam activation to use the software. They just have it in tiny small print at the bottom that online activation is required.

Having to download the game itself too though, just now completely kills any point of a physical release as you still have to do the downloading yourself.

I only buy physical PC games now if they're cheaper than they are on steam in a clearance sale or whatever. I just use the steam code and download the game itself.

The advantage of discs is install faster than download the whole thing.

That is some WTF situation here... fuck Konami.

Pretty sure the box is very well labeled so no big deal. The only thing here is really to waste a DVD for that but I do no think there is anything wrong if the customer knows what he is buying up front which is very likely the case.

Aren't most PC physical games these days just a Steam-key?

Well at least you get a box !

No. The game does install from it. Then the patches are installed through steam. If Konami didn't want to make the required multiple discs. There shouldn't be a physical PC copy, at all. They should of just sold the key next to the cash registers.

^ this.

This isnt a physical released game, even if you buy the Disc imo

If all you get is a steam installer on it.

Also this isnt the norm, this is some serious BS.

Well this is one of the reasons why i left PC gaming

is this real?
