Forums - Movies & TV - Man From U.N.C.L.E. Was The Best Summer Movie

Seriously I just saw this last night ... man did everyone sleep on this movie or what? Sit down Jurassic World, Avengers, Ant-Man, Vin Diesel, etc. etc. this was the best "summer" movie this year.

I enjoyed The Kingsmen from earlier in the year but this was better. Mad Max would be my no.2 pick for summer films. If you're itching to go to the theater but waiting for something new to come out, go see this one instead.

I can't even be bothered to remember what the Avengers movie was about ... what a dud. This is fresh, funny, has great action and honestly is a better Bond movie than the last several Bond movies.

I think unfortunately the title "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." from the 60s TV show is a very clunky title for audiences today, especially younger ones and the marketing wasn't very good. But this is a very good film.

No even close. Spy is far superior.

I didn't see Spy. I did see Fast 7, Avengers, Jurassic World, Ant-Man, Trainwreck, Mad Max, Kingsmen (earlier in the summer), Terminator, Compton, etc.

But of those films I really would not hesitate to say U.N.C.L.E. was the best.

This is one I still intend on seeing. I remember seeing the trailer months ago, I think when I saw either Avengers, or maybe earlier when I saw Kingsmen. Regardless, the trailer showed what I thought would be a really solid film. I have nobody that wants to see it with me (I only see movies in theaters with other people, never alone), so I'll probably end up just streaming it when a decent copy crops up, but it's a shame the movie hasn't caught on more.

if you're considering Mad Max a summer film. I can't remember when was released. Then Mad Max is without a doubt the best film of the summer. No , the best film of the year. Ant-man was pretty good too. U.N.C.L.E would be my third or fourth choice.

Ant-Man was just too vanilla. I think I'm just getting tired of superhero movies. Avengers did nothing for me.

1. Man From U.N.C.L.E. (great style, funny, cool, sometimes a bit too stylized from Ritchie, but mostly good)

2. Mad Max (great visuals, light on story, main character is kinda dull)

3. Trainwreck (funny, ending was kinda weak)

Would be my top 3.

Haha what's so bad about watching a movie alone?

I am the same way. Half the fun is talking about it right after with friends.
