Forums - Gaming Discussion - Notch (Minecraft creator) has emotional breakdown to the Minecraft sell, ex-employees, life, etc. on Twitter

You know Notch, you didn't need to leave your career. You could've sold MC and continued to work at Mojang, or used that money to start a new dev.

And people on N4G reckons he should pay off his family and friends lifestyle so they have free time. But not everyone works for money or financial ease, people work because it is something to do. If you aint working, that's 40 hours a week you're just wasting away.

He shouldn't have ever sold MC, at least to a big corporation. Minecraft and mojang prized themselves on being indie, and now they're just another studio, who make nothing but minecraft. Yeah Notch, can't feel sorry for you. Your life you ruined for money.

Nah I'd switch places, all I need is money, had my fill of people for an entire life, no more.

On a serious note, he wanted money and now he got it. If he's miserable because of it, he got what he deserved. I feel no sympathy for him.

The dude was already a millionaire because of Minecraft he was one of the richest devs in the world.

He has more than enough money to start another studio and also lets not pretend that Mojang was always going to be a one hit wonder because his cancelled project didn't even look interesting.

Eh. I see where he's coming from but I have little sympathy. Which is actually very unusual. He's able to get a job, you can't say the other things aren't unexpected.

Breakdowns on twitter are so difficult to do and also to read. Maybe that's just me?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Lol, I don't see how anyone can feel sorry for this guy.

boo hoo, don't care. How about going some humanitarian work...

Boo fucking hoo. Do some humanitarian work or spend you're time learning a language and then buy a house there and interact with the communities or something. There is an entire laundry list of things you can do. Drive around the freaking world or something man.

I feel for him. He sold his masterpiece, and now he has nothing to do with his life. He has everything he could ever want, except for work. Some (I would say most) people need to have to work towards something in order to have a fulfilling life, I'd imagine I might get somewhat depressed in his situation too.

I honestly don't feel anything for him.
