If you've bought PSP/PS1 games in the past from the PSN store, yes. cross-buy

Didn't know as I do not own a Vita. The only thing that I read is that you had to rebuy it, and the prices were poor.

if you own the physical copy of the PS1/PSP game then yes, you'll have to buy the digital version on PSN if you want to play it on PS Vita.

I don't consider that Full BC as someone who owns mostly physical games :P. PS3 had really good BC with 2 consoles and I think that made an impact a lot more then modern forms of BC.
Where's the "no" option?
I don't think it's over hyped at all. I think it's great. I didn't by a PS3 or 360 but now I'm more tempted for the X1.
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
It's not going to push a ton of hardware but it's certainly a great feature to have.
I think it would have been a bigger deal if it was genuine B/C, i.e. put any 360 disc in your Xb one and it will play instantly. Needing to wait for a slightly modified game to be made available through XBL and then download it throws a bit of a spanner in the works.
It's a shame it doesn't seem to have really had a big effect, because if it had translated into a substantial shift in sales marketshare then Sony would have had to respond in some way.

Obviously many people do care. Even years after 3DS released the eShop still got a lot of new DSiWare-releases. Obviously the games sold and at some point probably more to 3DS-owners than to DS-owners. So seemingly many people don't mind to play last-gen-games on the new console.
