I really want to see a superhero die in the films. Daredevil was getting destroyed a bunch. Do the "good guys" have to win all the time?

If good guys don't win lots of people will complain saying that the whole story is pointless. Writers and companies may decide against such backlash.
Some of us appreciate stories that take unexpected turns, characters whose fate can't be taken for granted (thinking they'll always have the last laugh), etc. but there are a lot of people who find it unacceptable that the antagonists could triumph in the end.
But having a superhero die is a tough one when sequels bring the $$$. Maybe some superheros will die once current actors portraying current comic book characters must be put to rest because of age/decide to move on. Then companies will put an end to them to be brought back later on by new actors.
Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

There will probably be deaths in Suicide Squad, but they're not really heroes.

Yep. Throwaway characters are in it. There are 3 untouchables I believe.

I know it'd be tough to kill a SH. The money is too great. These stories all end up being the same. Avengers and AoU were basically the same movie.
I prefer the gritty tone of Batman and Daredevil. Man of Steel as well. Had it not been for that darkness we wouldn't be getting what seems to be an awesome movie coming out. BvsS
Both are fine, has to do with character and story. Some are suited to lighter fun adventure and other work in grim and gritty setting.
I like both, but I slightly prefer the Daredevil approach. In terms of Marvel's strategy for long term audience retention I think both approaches are essential.

It seems that the DCU will be more popular here than the MCU.

My favorite superhero films are V for Vendetta, The Dark Knight and Watchmen even though I don't consider them to be perfect but yeah, I like my superhero films to be somewhat dark and with heavy themes and ideas that go beyond the good guys defeated the bad guys while making us laugh.
Not anything against the Marvel superhero films, most of them are extremely entertaining and well done.
Speaking of which, TheSting, have you seen V for Vendetta?
