My Mom and Dad - Super Mario Bros, Galaga

My grandmother used to play Dr Mario nonstop.

My dad was way into light gun arcade games. He would play driving arcade games too, but usually only if we were racing. Oh yeah, and he loved the Tie Fighter and Wing Commander games on his PC. Anything spacey and shooty.

My mom never played anything.

My dad played Final Fantasy

My first step dad got addicted to racing games and World of Warcraft.

My parents met because my dad liked TRON and my mom liked Galaga.

What's sad is that I think my dad would have really enjoyed video games had they been as prevalent in his age as they are right now. It'd be cool to play with him. He's a competitive guy!

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

None. Video games didn't exist when they were kids and they've always told me video games are a waste of time.

NBA games, Gran Turismo, Crash Bandicoot, and Need For Speed.

Edit: Those are the games my dad played back on the PS1/PS2, mom played NBA and Crash too.  Not sure if either of them played earlier stuff before PS1.

My mother succumbed to smartphone gaming. Mostly those build-an-empire-and-harvest-coins kind of games. I always make fun of her playing them. My father, well, stepfather, just lost interest sometime during the transition of the 6th and 7th gen. No particular reason, but he wasn't a gamer at heart and only had real interest during 5th and early to mid 6th gen. My mother has a longer history in being interested in games.

Mom:
G7000 (Odyssey2) games and Pong during childhood
SimTower
Quake II
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Banjo-Kazooie
MediEvil
Anno 1602
SoulCalibur
Shenmue
Rome: Total War
Medieval: Total War
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Bioshock
TES: Oblivion

Stepdad:
Quake II
Mario Kart 64
Gran Turismo
Quake III

My father is almost 60, the only game he liked to play is Pac-Man. Another game that he was interested when it came out was Super Mario 64, but I think he never played it, he just liked to see me playing.

My mother is 5 years younger and played more games. I know she liked to play an old Addams Family game, Pac-Man and some Mario games. She still plays Super Mario 64 DS sometimes, mostly for the minigames, and loves too watch me playing Nintendo games, especially Zelda because of the different art styles. She always says that games with realistic graphics and story are not fun and lack creativity (maybe that is why she still likes Nintendo games).
