I'll score the games I bought this year (and were released this year):

Majora's Mask 3D: 9.5/10
Yoshi's Woolly World: 8.5/10
Splatoon: 9/10

I also bought Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii U VC, I give that game a 10/10.

Could have done with more games though. The only yet to be released games I'll buy this year are Super Mario Maker, maybe Triforce Heroes and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Sadly Yo-kai Watch is for 2016 here.

Is MM3D much different than the VC version?

IMO it is... the boss fights are different... Better Graphics... and certain things have been altered... I've beaten both verisons and the 3D version is definitely the define version

OG Topic: I rate them 7.5... Splatoon is great... Along with the Majora's Mask and Xenoblade remakes... but still kind of lacking in terms of everything else... Even with Mario Maker , Star Fox, and Animal Crossing on the horizen, the gaps in between games are really noticible (I buy games that have been release years ago to make up for the gaps :-/)...

Much better graphics, boss battles redone, bomber's notebook is better (helps you a lot with sidequests), you can skip to any hour you want (helps tremendously with sidequests, makes the game a lot less tedious), the 4 mini-dungeons to get the Fierce Deity Mask are redone, much better controls thanks to the two screens, one or two new sidequests, some stuff is replaced, owl statues now safe permanently (in the original game you could only save after you reset time again), etc.

It's amazing how many more games Ninty released/will release for 3DS as compared to WiiU this year. They really did mess up with WiiU's line-up this gen, sad.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

The only ones I want from the current line up are Xenoblade Chronicles X and Mario Maker the rest I could live without but I may buy a few later down the line. In terms of my own personal taste I didn't really like this year for the Wii U.

My opinion this year (for the Wii U) was a 4/10. Without as much bias as possible, I'd give this years line up a 6/10.

Considering nothing came out on the Wii U this year that anybody actually cared about until Splatoon (which I think is in part at least a contributing factor to the game's success, among a few other noteworthy factors), and the fact that I personally find the holiday lineup really lacking in any must have titles, I'm going to have to give the Wii U lineup a 4/10. I respect the fact that they got one killer game out this year. I personally have no interest in Xenoblade or Super Level Creator though, so that's basically that from my perspective.

For the 3DS, nothing has come out since Majora's Mask that I wanted, with no further Nintendo published titles coming this year that I care about. At least there is a single third party game that I already received as a review item, so winner winner me. Somehow the 3DS lineup impressed me even less than the Wii U lineup. I give the 3DS line up with Nintendo games alone a 3/10, and a 3.5/10 if we include third party content I care about.

Considering I don't have infinite time or money;

Devils third
Star fox
Xcx
Xc3d
Yoshi w
Mario maker
Majora
And Splatoon make it an adequate year for me. Probably sucky for ur average guy.

Better than average I would say. Splatoon and Mario Maker will be the two games that define the Wii U and will be carried on to the NX.
