I'd buy a 2TB PS3 with a beefed up Cell in a heartbeat 💓. The beefed up Cell will only be utilized for speeding up the UI and download management. Include your idea of a Dualshock 3 3.0, form factor of Dualshock 4. Add external HDD support and I'll jizz all over myself.

Its not feasable for sony to shrink the ps3 hardware in ps2 form factor 

This is why the ps3 and 360 are so expensive after 10 years on the market

Hmm... I don't know what more they could do to shrink it down without adding to the cost. Plus they would need to order new parts for the controllers and it could lead to brand confusion vs the PS4 controller. As it is now, Sony is all in on the PS4 boat and its sailing strong. PS3 served its purpose and continues to do so. Its fine as is.

I mean just what I said.  If you press up-forward, or down-back, you're getting up,  or down, on a directional pad.  Makes playing most types of games impossible, unless you plug the DS4 into the PS3.  Pairing it via blue tooth should never be done.  So, the controller would have to be a PS3 re-shaped as a PS4 controller, and not just a PS4 controller packed with a slim PS3.  Unless sony fixes that problem.

And, the PS button doesn't work on PS3 at all.

How about a PS4 full PS BC and by that i mean PS1 PS2 & PS3 discs, that would be awesome, even for say 600$ or even more.

You want to bundle the PS3 with an inferior controller? Okay...

I've had this idea for a while. Make a SOC for Cell/RSX and then do one for the PS2/PSX and package it together is an SD slot for the HD. They can make something as small as the Wii and I can put it on top of my PS4.

good idea but i think Sony won't invest on this. they wanted ps4 to be the main console. drop the price of ps3 and sell it in the developing countries who can't buy the ps4 at the current price. but slimming it further plus DS$ on a ps3, it would cost too much. the demographic who would love that would be a few owners of PS3 that wanted to have that version but new gamers won't find it too appealing, they just wanted better pricing with consoles and games.

I think there should be a more powerful hybrid between the PSTV and the PS3. It can play any downloadable content that either a PS3 or a PSTV can play, but lacks a disc drive (cost and power efficiency ).
