Never cared for that Jeff what's his fat arse name. He seems like a whiny exorbitionist right from his Gamespot meltdown to this. None of his "complaints" seem valid to me. The multiplayer is done incredibly well.

Well I like Jeff and I usually agree with him. Gamespot was wrong for letting him go and Im glad Giantbomb is a success.

But he has become jaded over the years and nit picks games a lot. His expectations were too high for this remaster.

Nope, I dont respect his review. And I respect people even less that use that review as proof this is a bad game.

Anyhow, Im done arguing. Gears Ultimate is great and still reviewing better than most new games. Its aged just fine.

84 when I last checked Gamerankings by the way.

Whos doing that?

Yes, it's a great game.  Don't need to complain about 1 bad review.

Did you read comments in that review page?

Just let us let off some steam over that review dude 😏 If there's no need to complain about one review there definitely isn't need to complain about complaining. Especially if you think it's a great game. And now I'm done with this nonsense.

It's getting decent review for a somewhat slim remaster. Would of been so much better if it was a Gears remastered collection. It will cater to fans of the series like myself but you can't really call this game a Xbox One exclusive (simply a remastered Xbox 360 game) and don't expect this game to be a system seller. The gears of war bundle is simply a bonus gears game for new Xbox one owners.

I dont think anybody was touting this as an exclusive. Just a great excuse to play more Gears.

Its the same game with a massive visual overhaul.

We all wanted the trilogy remastered but an effort like what we see in the Ultimate Edition takes time. Getting to play the entire series on X1 via BC was a great move though. Look foward to revisiting Horde mode.

Liked the first Gears game, hopefully I get to play this soon.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I cannot for the life of me comprehend how his thoughts on the multiplayer have made it into a professional review of the game. First he makes a huge assumption that the majority of people who will play multiplayer in the game will be veterans of a high skill level and nothing else which is completely ridiculous and then he essentially complains about the skill gap in multiplayer and how he gets wrecked and spins it in a completely negative way. Seriously, are we completely discrediting multiplayer experiences that reward knowledge and skill and have a steeper learning curve than other shooters Jeff likes such as COD? Its a shame that reviewers are increasingly showing worrying signs of inconsistencies more and more these days. Multiplayer is one of the staples of the gears of war franchise and this reviewer glosses over it and doesn't give it a second look. It would be like reviewing a battlefield game for nothing more than its single player IMO.

I played it today. I have to say, as a Gears lover, the game is a solid 80. I love the series and if love to see an Xbox One game tear up the charts but it really is just the older game with a new paint job.

Luckily, the old game is still a great game but if this game were still a 10/10 compared to the best games of today, that would be sad. I'm enjoying it but at its core, is still just a 2006 game. Not a particularly deep one, either. Gameplay is tight and the battles are still epic. It's a good game. No more. No less. I actually can't wait to finish it so I can move on to Gears 2!

-my opinion.

Agreed. Frankly Im glad to see its scoring in the 80s at all.

There was someone who is currently banned that thought 85 was a low metascore. Some people create unrealistic expectations just to mock them.

Microsoft should take notes on how to make remakes from Sony.

82 Meta from a game that had 94 when released is really bad.

Moderated - Leadified

Yeah, doubling the framerate of Journey, definitely deserves 92%.

When has Sony ever made something that can qualify as a remake anyway? They usually just do resolution and framerate upgrades to their old games.
