Gears Of War Ultimate has over 500 streams live on Twitch right now.

And?

What part of that did you not understand? There is no and.

I don't think he will reply, he just decided to add nothing to the thread but quoting you giving the image that 500 streams are nothing substantial so to leave a hidden negative comment about a game he won't buy on a console he doesn't own.

In fairness, simply stating the number of people streaming someone doesn't add much to the thread either. It's not a very useful statistic unless it's coupled with the number also watching. Otherwise it's a bit like a film company proclaiming how many cinemas their new film has been showing in, but forgetting to mention how much it actually made. The two are obviously tied, but the value of the former is tied to the latter.

Im wondering if the low Meta score of this game affected the initial sales of the game.

Its currently at #15 and going down on the Amazon Top 100.

Since launch 2 digital copies are also for sale on Amazon and are at #44 and #144 also I think alot of sales would of happleneds digitial for this as poeple will be grabbing it as their go-to online game for thew foreseeable future and in no way is a 85 as it were or 82 as it is now is a "low" meta score.

In all honesty, the sales are pretty low for this game right now, being just the second X1 exclusive of the year you would expect that people were expecting eagerly this game to arrive.

What i mean by "low" score i explained it before, the drop of 12 Meta points from the original, this being (suposedly) the definitive edition is just disapointing to say the least.

Still contributing an “and?“ as the only post in a thread from gooch is as obvious as it can get. Whether 500 streams is good or not is arguable, of course, but not in that way. What that was about I already wrote.

And?

And.. go watch one if you're interested in the game? I could understand your confusion if that post about 500 live streams for Gears were in, say.. the NFL thread. But there's no need for it in a thread dedicated to Gears.

Why are people complaining about low scores? It's a good game in a great series, but isn't a true classic and clearly didn't stand the test of time unscaved. I'm sure if the first Uncharted was the only game being remastered in the series it would score about the same.

Well his feelings have changed signficantly over time. Again, I listen to his podcast and he never has anything good to say about Gears other than his love of Horde mode.

He gave Gears 2 and 3 great reviews as well, both of which have Horde mode.

The AI in Gears of War: Ultimate Edition can be profoundly dumb. Your squadmates have a habit of just, like, stopping in the middle of a path and not bothering to catch up, even if you issue any of the game's rudimentary and ultimately meaningless squad commands. I ran into a couple of cases where the enemy AI failed to activate, too, allowing me to just take my time and shoot them in the back. Also, right before theBrumak fight I looked out the door and saw just a skybox. The level took around 30 seconds to draw in. None of that is especially game-breaking, but for a project that specifically exists to kind of clean up an old game, parts of it still feel a little filthy.

Lastly, the campaign runs at around 30 frames per second, but even then it still takes some hits during some of the larger encounters. That it can't even maintain a rock-solid frame rate while also not looking especially great for 2015 seems like pure madness.

t's fun when played with some like-minded and like-skilled individuals, but after all this time the only people who are likely to stick with it are insanely good at it.

He must have absolutely had no reason to dislike the game.  He just isn't a fan of the game anymore...

Or maybe, he had a bad experience with the game.  Even technically different people can have different experiences with the game.  Skyrim for example could have 10 people play it and 9 of them have pretty bad experiences with bugs.  While the 10th guy got super lucky and was going on about how bugless the game was.  That's his right as a reviewer to explain his experiences.

@bold, clearly his love for Gears isn't just predicated on his enjoyment of Horde mode.  Otherwise why did he originally give the game a 9.6/10?

Sure, horde mode might be his absolute favorite, but clearly he enjoyed the game for other reasons.

Sorry, your examples are just nit picking. A few graphical hitches and him sucking at multiplayer arent good excuses for a low score.

He gave Driveclub a 2/5 and people said bullcrap. However, a lot of critics didnt love Driveclub.

With Gears Ultimate, Jeff is the only critic thus far that flatout disliked it.

Frankly, people like you are ignoring all the positive reviews and using the negative as gospel.

Never cared for that Jeff what's his fat arse name. He seems like a whiny exorbitionist right from his Gamespot meltdown to this. None of his "complaints" seem valid to me. The multiplayer is done incredibly well.

You know what they say about opinions the-pi-guy 😊 This is no different than people discussin exceptional low scores in Until Dawn metacritic thread. Some complaints simply don't seem valid and don't justify a score that low. Doesn't seem very professional either. You can respect his opinion of course, I don't see why everyone should.

Now I'm done arguing about this. I'll take my gears-hype elsewhere 😁

He could certainly have added more content to his post, I'm not fond of 1 word comments in general, but I interpreted it as "and what does that actually mean?". I wondered the same thing when I first read Vasto's comment :p

Frankly, people like you are ignoring all the positive reviews and using the negative as gospel.

If they were a big deal to him, that's his opinion.  You're the one who is trying to belittle someone's opinion by suggesting that they shouldn't have reviewed the game.  I'm trying to explain that EVERY REVIEW IS VALID.  Every one has their own opinion, there is no wrong opinion.  If he feels the game was deserving of the 4/10 score, that's his opinion.  Would I agree with it?  Probably not, everyone else seems to be very much enjoying the game.

You're the one trying to explain away 1 bad review, and instead of understanding that everyone can have their opinion.

Accept that people can have an opinion that isn't wrong and their opinion isn't driven by being a fanboy.  Everyone might love a game, and everyone might hate the game.  That's their opinion, their experience.

I'm not using the negative as gospel, I am merely defending the review.

Why am I doing that?

Because as the reviewer, it is his opinion.  Don't need to bash someone just because you don't agree with their opinion.  Respect every single review, as it is someone's opinion.

Nope, I dont respect his review. And I respect people even less that use that review as proof this is a bad game.

Anyhow, Im done arguing. Gears Ultimate is great and still reviewing better than most new games. Its aged just fine.

84 when I last checked Gamerankings by the way.
