And there in lies the core of this thread, MS is the failure, the X1 is a great system.

Well MS made the X1, they are responsible for much of what makes X1 a great system.

MS made bad moves and great moves, that's why X1 is still selling many units and not fading into obscurity. The sales disparity between X1 and PS4 is big, but its not OG Xbox vs PS2 big. Lets not pretend X1 is irrelevant.

Why are you being so obtuse? I never said X1  was irrelevant. Nor am I talking about upstart systems like OG Xbox. I'm talking about the steep drop off in sales from just a few years ago to now, which IMO CAN be attributed to people mindset of MS while looking past a great console.

Yes but it's also causing healthy competition between the two giants which will propel the games industry forward and set new standards for all gaming media (including the PC since it has nothing to compete with and gets locked out because of piracy) thus being in a constant state of war brings about innovation (Like the real life military industrial complex). Enjoy the Xbox (or wii) and remember that Sony was the hated underdog last gen and images change, I reckon around the slow down of this gen things will get stale and as the PS4 slows down the Xbox will stay constant slowly making at least some of the gap. All in all this "hate" has caused some amazing things to be produced and saved us from always online DRM and a controller-less UI with Konect. Ps4 just has the best content, exclusives, console design and services right now but I know I and many other people who don't care about the fanboy mentality will at least consider the XBOX or WIIU down the road, ScaleBound has already drawn my attention to the big boxy VCR looking behemoth.

So you've been getting pizza from a local vendor for quite some time. He has great pizza and offers toppings that you really like that cant be gotten anywhere else. Then the owner, who's always been kinda a jerk,  starts being a real asshat to you and the rest of the customers. Well there is this other pizza shop in town as well, offers great pizza as well some would even say better, including their own unique toppings. Question is do you still buy pizza from vendor A while vendor B  has an equal offering? Would you really buy both because each has a few unique toppings?

Not sure why snide remarks or cheesy PR talk would make you dislike one company but not the other, they both are equally guilty of it.

I buy game consoles because of the games on them. If you're looking at shady business practices and things I think you'd be best served with a Nintendo Wii U. As long as none of my console companies are enslaving children or committing genocide I'm ok with buying their products.

It's not hatred, it's I learned the first time and won't be again.

Would you take that same stance with other purchases in life? Overall I'm most likely going to suck it up and get another X1 because I really like what it has to offer. I just wanted to discuss how I feel the company is holding back the system and if the systems were reversed lets say MS owned the PS and Sony the XBox u think it would be a lil more competitive in the sales department.

Yeah and then they closed down the servers you paid for

They werent oblige to keep them up forever nor do you have to subscribe forever.

Sony has shut down servers just to encourage people to buy their new game. Thats pretty gross.

first of all SONY never charged you. And we are talking about the original Xbox servers here which had MP online support, patch and DLC download support and an Arcade store with Indie games all of this was shut down by MS not some games but the entire cluster service.

Its shady and thats why i dont trust Microsoft with my Money investing into their Eco system

The 360 saw a huge sales spike around 2010/11 when they rebranded with Kinect. Post that, there was a decline.

The X1 is or was outpacing the 360 in sales starting at launch. Hence, X1 sales are actually fine, PS4 is just doing much better. 360 didnt get to 86 million in a few years. Some of the best sales years 360 had were 5 years after launch.

My prediction of X1 selling 50 million is me assumingb they will probably sell an average of 6 million a year for 8 years. But they can potentially do better than that. They may be at 20 million not long after this holiday.

Many of those games would have had their servers shut down sooner if it wasnt for XBL keeping them alive. They were shut down in 2010, thats 5 years into the life of 360.

The services shut down on OG Xbox werent significant. The only thing that really sucked was losing access to Halo 2 multiplayer.

Sony shut down servers to a lot of games that werent very old because maintaining free servers isnt worth while.

The X1 is good hardware and seems to be more reliable than the 360.The problem is that I still don't see many exclusives that I like on their platform and most go to pc,the features they have not on other consoles do not appeal to me and I do not like how they operate as a company when it comes to gaming.
