When I was researching for an external HDD I found Seagates broke down the most, I remember WD was pretty good so I got that.  Its still working great, but I haven't even had it a year yet.

I bought this 6TB beast some days ago.

I have another one of these and so far no problems. I've bought several other External HDDs from Western Digitals and so far only one failed me and made me lose all data. I opt for WD always.

As far as I know you need to format external storage for Xbox, at least Xbox360, for it to work in the console. Then you need to format it back to be of use on PC, the storage device space appears completely occupied when you check on it in PC after formatting for Xbox use.

Maybe it has changed since last time I had to work with a formatted storage device for Xbox360, like Micro giving the system an update or something, maybe it is different for Xbone. Maybe someone can weight on this as well.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Whatever the consensus is, I'll buy one too. I need one.

I personally like the Western Digital Black for my Hard Drives and Samsung Evo Pro SSDs (850 Pro specifically atm)

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

Thx :)

I did a recent poll, and it seems there was not much of a benefit vs price on a SSD. A hybrid might be a bit better, but the general agreement was a good 7200 rpm HDD was the way to go.

I was planning on getting one with an external power supply, to save wear and tear on my Xbox One, but ones with external power are getting few every day. Might not be that big of deal.

The upside is games will load faster off an external vs the internal drive.

PS No, you can not partion it and use it in other things.  If it's partitioned you could use it for music and movies, but not for storing games.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
