Forums - Nintendo Discussion - There are officially seven Wii U games for 2016 so far (not including indies)

JRPGfan said:

@Goodnightmoon, the point was 7 games is barely anything.
Why dont you make a Wii U release 2016 list, that has Indies and 3rd party on it?
(doesnt Mighty No. 9 fall under indie/3rd party btw?)

Im kinda curious how many games the Wii U so far will get in 2016.

"..so make lists with sense, is not a good list just because is big, jesus, there are even DLC counted as a game in that list!!"

I basically just copy&pasted it from http://www.playstationlifestyle.net

Point still stands, 7 games isnt really alot.

Of that list the only 2 games that intrest me are "Zelda U" & "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem".

Thats not really alot to look forwards to for a intire year.

Is not a lot and obviously nothing close to the quantity of games on Ps4 or XBO next year, but games like Zelda, Pokken and SMTXFE are way too relevent for a console that is supposed to die in 2016, those are going to be some of the best games on the WiiU, also Nintendo probably have some unnanounced games for 2016 and we still don´t know what Tantalus is doing. The usual third parties are gonna be there (Lego whatever, Just dance, Skylanders, etc) and of course there are a bunch of indies confirmed too (some of them exclusives) and there is still plenty of time to announce more games.

By now the first half of 2016 looks better than the first half on 2015 and 2014.

Fuck yeah 7 whole games. I want to laugh at it but tbh its all we can expect from WiiU at this point, and people say it isnt a failure

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem

Zelda U

Pokken Tournament

Project Treasure

Mighty No. 9 - It's getting published and getting a physical copy, even though it started out as an indie. Which is why I am including this.

Mario & Sonic @ The 2016 Rio Olympic Games (god that's a mouthfull)

Yokai Watch Just Dance (only confirmed for a Japanese release, but it still counts)

Actually pretty excited for next year already. (Even though I would only get the top 4 on this list) Can't wait to see what else gets revealed. :)

Meanwhile:

-snip-

Old list from: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net

By the time we re heading into 2016, the list will probably 2x or more than above.

Also there could well be alot of titles not listed above, that actually have a 2016 release date on ps4.

Sigh. This thread is about Wii U not Ps4 so where does this fit in? Some of you people.....

I'm really looking foward to Pokken and Zelda! Also, am I the only one expecting a WiiU game in August or September of next year? Kirby maybe?

Yep your like the 4th person to quote the intire bloody thing, how is that relevant or helping discusion get back on point in anyway?

The reason I did that post was because people where makeing it sound like 7 games announced for 2016 for the Wii U was alot.

Its not, theres two games out of those 7 that intrest me.

I could have pointed that out without makeing a list. I understand that.

I removed that obnoxious list from the post and the posts that quoted it. Simply not needed, especially in this thread.

Now.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem and Zelda U, hype!

So that's one game I care about on Wii U and one pre order, well I guess Nintendo's walletjes friendly compared to my PS4 same on you, you money eating Black box.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

There's only one PS4 game I care about next year (Horizon: Dawn), while there are 4 WIi U games I will get (Pokken Tournament, SMT X FE, Zelda U and Yooka-Laylee).

Plus there's also Fire Emblem: Fates and Yo-kai Watch on the 3DS.

Interested in zelda, will look into pokken tournament, but the rest seem either niche, small, or not my thing. Next year (along with this year) seem really drab compared to mario kart, smash, bayonetta, and donkey kong last year

Hmm.

Bayonetta is not my cup of tea, I will admit. But I had to include it in the list of great 2014 games due to the reviews (a nintendo published game getting a perfect score on gamespot, it's gotta be good).

if smt x fe gets those kinds of reviews then I'll also change my opinion on that despite it being niche. I did it last gen with xenoblade.

SMT x FE and Xenoblade Chronicles X are indeed obscure, but not small and they probably have higher production values than all the other upcoming Wii U games barring Zelda U.

I didn't claim they were small, just niche. They may have a bigger budget than zelda, but that does not mean they will be as well received by everyone. Xeno x does interest me but smt x fe does not. And I know I am not alone in this sentiment

I don't get how people can get hyped by this list. 7 games is really low, and not all of those games will be home runs. 2 are crowd funded, 1 is part of downhill franchise (mario and sonic), 1 will be free to play, and 1 isn't even confirmed for 2016 (zelda is tba). This is really low, even for wii u standards
